Overview
First Impressions
You know what caught me off guard about Urban Log Cabin near zone 2 tube? The name actually makes perfect sense once you see it. Tucked away on a quiet residential street in North Acton, this four-star property genuinely feels like someone took a cozy cabin concept and gave it a smart London makeover. The wooden accents and warm lighting immediately set it apart from the usual bland hotel chains you’ll find scattered around the city.
Location & Getting Around
North Acton isn’t exactly tourist central, but that’s honestly part of the appeal. You’re in proper London here — residential streets, local pubs, the kind of neighborhood where you’ll actually see Londoners going about their daily lives. The tube station is genuinely walkable (about 8 minutes), and from there you can reach Central London in under 20 minutes. I mean, try getting that kind of connectivity from a Zone 1 hotel without paying double.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this clever blend of rustic charm and modern functionality that actually worked. Think exposed wood beams paired with proper blackout curtains and decent Wi-Fi — the stuff that matters when you’re trying to recover from a day of London walking. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a mattress all night, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve tried.
Practical Considerations
What I appreciated most was how straightforward everything was. No pretentious lobby scene, no overly complicated check-in process — just solid hospitality that gets the job done. The staff seemed to actually know the area well, which came in handy when I needed recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t tourist traps. There’s parking available too, which is practically gold dust in London if you’re driving.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place you book for Instagram shots or to impress anyone. It’s the kind of place you book when you want a proper night’s sleep, reasonable value for money, and to stay somewhere with a bit of character. The 8.4 rating makes sense — it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. For travelers who want to experience London without the Zone 1 price tag or the sterile hotel box experience, it actually hits the mark quite well.
To book a hotel in London during opera season, visitors plan ahead to balance Royal Opera House nights with quiet Regent’s Canal strolls.

"The cabin accommodated our needs and exceeded expectations, only bathroom could use improvement"
The location was ideal, the beds were comfy, the lights bright and dimmable which were perfect, there was a good amount of space in the cabin, the kitchenette was well stocked, the mini fridge and microwave handy, it was great to have WiFi, and also loved the addition of ac and fan.
What could be improved: The whole cabin felt very damp leading from the bathroom so the towels didn't dry well and the air felt musty, the shower holder didn't hold up well and there was no shelf in the bathroom or shower cubicle to put toiletries on.

Location is very convenient , North Acton tube station is just 5 minutes walk, also by a Sainsburys and Tesco, Costa as well .
Cleanliness was absolutely beautiful I will say, Excellent job
You get free WiFi they sort out the parking and they also leave you alone - I’m sure if you need them they will help but I prefer a quiet not interrupted visit personally haha!
What could be improved: If I have a slight moan - When you arrive in the property it does smell damp, but put the heating on and the smell goes very quick!
Not a fan of having to wash up in the bathroom sink, but that’s just me, other than that if you want to visit a place where you just kind of need peace and quiet and a bed to sleep in, this is the place

"Well worth the price and location. Would stay again."
All the info for getting into the property was easy to find and follow, including the info about parking and the car, so we didn't get a ticket. The property itself was great. Even for three people it was comfortable and not too squishy. We even had to open the windows as we were a bit warm. Location is great, close to tube, bus and other amenities such as fast food and groceries.
What could be improved: Not much - it's in a flight path so there is noise 27/7 but I just slept with my headphones on and it blocked the sound. Car parking is very tricky, you might need to park ages away and walk back.
