Overview
First Impressions
Urban Elegance Luxury Living with Kitchenette sits on a quiet stretch of Saint John Street in Islington — and honestly, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. This apartment-style accommodation feels more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed flat than a traditional hotel. The building itself blends right into the Georgian terraced houses that line this part of London, which I actually prefer to those flashy glass towers downtown.
The Space Itself
What you’re getting here is essentially a self-contained unit with a proper kitchenette that actually works — I’m talking full-size fridge, decent hob, and enough counter space to prep a real meal. The living area flows naturally into the sleeping space, and while it’s not huge, the layout feels thoughtful rather than cramped. You know what impressed me most? The windows are genuinely large for London, so you get proper daylight streaming in during the day.
Islington Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about this location — you’re perfectly positioned between the chaos of King’s Cross and the village-y feel of upper Islington. Angel tube station is maybe a seven-minute walk, which puts you twenty minutes from central London without the tourist crowds right outside your door. The area has that lived-in London vibe with proper pubs (The Crown Tavern is just around the corner) and those little independent shops that haven’t been pushed out yet.
Practical Considerations
As a three-star place, Urban Elegance delivers exactly what you’d expect — clean, comfortable, functional without any particular frills. The Wi-Fi works well, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough storage space for a week-long stay. I mean, you’re not getting daily housekeeping or a concierge, but that’s sort of the point. The kitchenette means you can grab groceries at the Waitrose on Upper Street and actually save some money on London’s restaurant prices.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it gives you space to breathe in a city that often doesn’t. You can make your morning coffee without queueing downstairs, store leftovers in an actual fridge, and spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The Islington location means you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough away to get some peace when you need it. For the price point, it’s honest accommodation that doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not — just a solid base for exploring London with a bit more independence than your typical hotel offers.

"Very good"
The place was very clean, with a fresh new renovation that made it feel modern and comfortable. Nice location. The staff were friendly and responded quickly to any questions or requests.
What could be improved: No plug in bathroom, no slippers ( but they had a travel toothbrush and paste provided, which is nice).

"Facilities and location are good needs to improve the acoustics to give more privacy."
Idéal location for my professional purpose.
What could be improved: Acoustics are not managed therefore you are part of your neighbors conversations… and late arrivals.

"Nice place to stay but put off staying again by the damage deposit."
Convenient, comfortable and the interactions for getting in etc were great. A really nice place to stay at a decent price.
What could be improved: I am going to be working in London 4 days a week for at least 6 months and I’d consider blocking booking for many weeks apart from the damage deposit. I don’t want to commit so much refundable deposit money for such a long time and to charge £25 as non refundable deposit puts me off
The smell from the shop was a bit off putting on the stairs but not noticeable inside and nothing can be done about that.

"Nice apartment"
Very thoughtful in terms of comfort. Small things like coffee and water and even a toothbrush. The apartment was immaculate and nicely decorated. Instructions were superb.
What could be improved: It’s on a main road even though the windows were shut i didn’t get a good nights rest.

"great place for short stay, well equiped and nice location"
great place to stay, well equiped (frigobar, iron, kettle, some dishes...), great location, bed confortable, shower works well, wifi works very well, host is responsive, photos are acurated. I do reccomend to short stays.
What could be improved: a litle bit hot (the fan doesn't have much effect) and the deposit (250) was not clear at the description. No big problems with this, I made the deposit and they return 2 days after the checkout, but it will be good to have this clear at the description

"Comfortable, pleasant and convenient."
Location, comfortable bed, good kitchen appliances and practical bathroom.
What could be improved: My room was probably one of the smallest, but having already a kitchen, I really missed a table and chair. Foldables would be very practical to have in this case.
Also not very sound-proof. The electronic locks are rather noisy, if possible to beep a little lower it would help.

"If you can clean your flat yourself"
Location is good
What could be improved: There was no Lift for floors above and there were no cleaning arrangements on a daily basis.
