Travelers’ Pad -Splendid Central Location!
First Impressions
Travelers’ Pad -Splendid Central Location! sits right on King’s Cross Road in Camden, and honestly, the name pretty much says it all. This three-star place is exactly what it promises — a straightforward, no-frills base that gets you where you need to be in London. The building itself isn’t much to look at from the outside, but you’re not really here for architectural drama, are you?
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about this spot — you’re genuinely in the thick of everything without paying West End prices. King’s Cross Station is basically a five-minute walk, which means you’ve got the Eurostar, six Tube lines, and loads of buses right there. Camden Market is close enough that you’ll probably end up wandering over without really planning to. I mean, the location really does live up to that “splendid” claim in the name.
The Accommodation
The apartment setup works well for people who want a bit more space than your typical hotel room. You get a proper kitchen — nothing fancy, but it’s got what you need if you want to grab groceries from the Sainsbury’s down the road instead of eating out every meal. The furnishings are clean and functional, though don’t expect anything Instagram-worthy. It’s the kind of place where everything works, the WiFi is reliable, and you can actually spread out your stuff.
Neighborhood Feel
Camden has this great mix going on — you’ve got the tourist chaos around the market, but also plenty of regular London life happening. There’s a decent pub called The Bullet just around the corner, and if you walk toward King’s Cross, you’ll find some surprisingly good coffee shops that aren’t completely overrun. The Coal Drops Yard development has added some nice restaurant options too, though they can get pretty busy on weekends.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place you’ll be raving about to friends back home, but that’s sort of the point. It does exactly what it needs to do — gives you a clean, comfortable base with proper transport links and enough space to not feel cramped. The price point makes sense for what you get, especially considering how much you’d pay for a hotel room in Zone 1 with half the space. Plus, there’s parking available if you’re brave enough to drive in London, which is actually pretty rare around here.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
