First Impressions
The Top Floor 1 Bedroom Apartment with views over London sits on Cross Court in Southwark, and honestly, the name tells you everything you need to know. When I stepped into this four-star apartment, the first thing that hit me was those windows — floor-to-ceiling glass that frames London like it’s a living postcard. You’re genuinely on the top floor, so there’s this sense of being above it all while still being right in the thick of things.
The Space Itself
The room flows beautifully from the living area into the bedroom, with that open-plan feel that actually works here rather than feeling cramped. The kitchen is properly equipped too — I mean, you could actually cook a decent meal if you wanted to, not just heat up leftovers. What I loved most was how the afternoon light streams in and shifts throughout the day, changing the whole mood of the space.
Location and Neighborhood
Southwark’s one of those areas that locals know but tourists often miss, which honestly makes it better. You’re walking distance to Borough Market (maybe ten minutes if you’re moving at a decent pace), and the Thames Path is right there when you need to clear your head. The Shard’s visible from the windows, but you’re far enough away that you don’t feel like you’re in a tourist trap.
What Makes It Work
The building feels solid and quiet — you know how some London apartments can be paper-thin? Not this one. I actually got proper sleep here, which is saying something given how wired I usually am in new places. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice flat than staying in typical tourist accommodation.
Why Guests Love It
Look, the 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re here. It’s that combination of having your own space with those views, plus being in a neighborhood that feels authentically London without being overwhelmingly busy. The transport links are solid too — you’re not stuck somewhere that requires three tube changes to get anywhere interesting. People seem to book this place and then actually want to spend time in it, rather than just using it as somewhere to crash between sightseeing.

"Overall, a comfortable stay in a well-appointed flat."
For our purposes, the location was great, but we had a car and it wouldn't have been so easy for us without that (we have some mobility problems - the walk to the key collection point wasn't that far but even so, it would have been difficult for us w/o the car.)
What could be improved: It was a challenge finding the right building. Not the fault of the host, but we didn't find it particularly well sign-posted.

"Very happy overall."
Excellent host with good communication, property is clean, comfortable and secure, lovely view at night over London. Good linen and toiletries , host obviously takes care.
What could be improved: A little tired decoratively, obviously a popular rental.

"Exceptional"
Spacious, clean, newly renovated, all facilities were perfect, and the view was marvelous. Close to main bus lines and train stations, and in the vicinity of two parks. I only wish I could have stayed there longer, and would love to stay there again one day. Everything was simply perfect.
What could be improved: Key pickup was a little bit far, which was difficult with heavy bags, but communication about it was clear and I had an overall wonderful stay.

The place was immaculate. Had everything you need and more.
Host had great communication.
Was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was.
What could be improved: The picking up of the keys wasn't great as was later than our check in time which then made us late for an event. Parking was non existent

Great location,lovely and quiet especially at night,very clean and comfy,ideal for 2 night stay with our 2 young boys,have recommended and will most definitely stay again.The pictures don’t do this appt justice.

"Exceptional"
Everything was great. It was really nice and super clean. All the little extras were such a nice touch such as the individual toiletries. She also left crumpets and spreads. Definitely going to be a first choice to book if we ever come back to London.
