Time Elegance in Haggerston
First Impressions
Time Elegance in Haggerston sits right on Kingsland Road, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this stretch of East London at first. But you know what? This four-star hotel completely won me over. The building has this sleek, contemporary facade that stands out among the mix of old pubs and trendy coffee shops lining the street — it’s like finding a polished gem in one of London‘s most authentic neighborhoods.
Location & Neighborhood
Haggerston is having a real moment, and staying here puts you right in the thick of it. You’re walking distance from the Regent’s Canal — I mean, you can literally stroll along the water to Broadway Market in about fifteen minutes. The Overground station is practically on your doorstep, so getting into central London takes maybe twenty minutes. What I really loved though was how local it feels; there’s this amazing Vietnamese place called Song Que just down the road that locals queue up for.
The Room
The room design struck that perfect balance between modern comfort and character. Mine had floor-to-ceiling windows that flooded the space with light, and the bed was genuinely one of those “sink right in” situations after long days exploring the city. The bathroom was compact but well-designed — everything you need without feeling cramped. Actually, the little touches impressed me most: proper thick towels, decent water pressure, and blackout curtains that actually work.
Dining & Amenities
The ground-floor restaurant serves this interesting fusion menu that changes seasonally — I had their take on British classics with international twists, and it was surprisingly good. Breakfast isn’t your typical hotel buffet either; they do à la carte options that feel more like eating at a proper café. There’s also a small fitness area if you need to work off all that East London food exploring, though honestly, you’ll probably get enough walking just wandering the neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Time Elegance apart is how it captures the energy of this part of London without trying too hard. The staff genuinely know the area — they pointed me toward Columbia Road Flower Market on Sunday morning and suggested this brilliant little bookshop I never would’ve found otherwise. The hotel feels connected to its surroundings rather than isolated from them. Plus, with an 8.1 rating, it’s clear other travelers appreciate that authentic East London experience combined with proper comfort and service.
