The Waterlow Park Wonder – Trendy 2BDR with Study Room and Patio caught my attention immediately — and honestly, it’s one of those places where the name actually delivers on its promise. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Waterlow Park, which I mean, if you’ve never been, it’s this gorgeous green space that locals in London absolutely treasure. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s cool flat than your typical hotel experience.
The Space That Works
What really surprised me about this three-star place was how thoughtfully laid out everything is. The study room — and I’m calling it a proper room because it’s not just a desk shoved in a corner — makes this perfect for anyone who needs to get actual work done. I ended up spending my mornings there with coffee, looking out at the neighborhood while catching up on emails. The two bedrooms are generous too, which you don’t always get in London properties.
Outdoor Living in N19
The patio is honestly where this place shines. It’s not huge, but it’s private and gets lovely afternoon light — perfect for that evening glass of wine or morning coffee situation. You know what I loved? Being able to step outside without having to navigate hotel lobbies or lifts. There’s something refreshing about having your own little outdoor space in Islington, especially when Waterlow Park is right there for longer walks.
The Neighborhood Experience
Staying in N19 gives you this authentic North London feel that tourists usually miss. Highgate village is walkable from here, and the whole area has this residential charm that feels genuinely lived-in rather than touristy. The local pubs actually serve locals — I mean, you’ll find proper conversations happening rather than just Instagram moments. Transport links are solid too; you’re not stuck out in the middle of nowhere despite feeling quite residential.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. At 7.6 rating, you’re getting honest value — comfortable beds, reliable WiFi, and that extra space that makes longer stays actually pleasant. The proximity to Waterlow Park means you can have proper morning runs or evening strolls without planning your whole day around it. I actually found myself using the study room more than I expected, and the patio became my favorite spot for unwinding after busy London days.

Location and price is really good, 5 minutes walking to tube station, bus stop, super market. The vibe in this area is safe in night.The ASH team responded quickly.
What could be improved: In London, steep steps and low water pressure are common.

"Great stay over Christmas, thank you!"
The location was perfect. Really close to the tube and buses. The choice of the supermarkets really nearby.
The flat is very spacious over two floors, really felt home and we enjoyed it!
What could be improved: The cleanliness could be more thorough and better. The dishwasher was not working, the bathroom door not closing properly and tap in the bath was broken.
But we managed and would be willing to come back! :)

"Cute."
It felt safe and the bedrooms and bathroom were clean. The living room is comfortable and it was a good size for three adults and a child. It is obviously not in central London but is just a short walking distance to bus stops and the underground.
What could be improved: The Kitchen was a bit of a disaster. The washing machine did not work. We used the dishwasher and it leaked all over the kitchen floor and into the downstairs neighbors apartment. The cutlery was all dirty when we arrived.
It is very nicely designed but not if you have a young child who would want to touch or throw things.

"Disappointing and so unsafe due to toxic smoke"
The property was lovely & well maintained
What could be improved: The insanely toxic smell of tobacco smoke & cannabis in the property from the flat below was disgusting. We had young kids with us & it was wildly inappropriate & unsafe. The AI bot I had to interact with about our issues during & post our stay were beyond frustrating & the fact I had to pay $600 AUD as a property deposit on top of the actual cost was ridiculous (& it took 7 days to be returned to me is wild).

"Terrible experience. The company managing the apartment organised visits with other people"
I had a bad experience dealing with the company that manages the property.
I faced problems with the property and I used Booking.com communication channel but I never got good/quality support.
Booking.com is very polite but they never addressed my problem.
Very poor experience with the company that manages this property and I would recommend to be cautious if you decide to stay in this property or a property managed by https://www.ghost-hosts.com
It is impossible to get hold of them when and I have been using Booking.com very successfully for over 10 years. This is the first time that I had a terrible experience with one of Booking.com partners.
What could be improved: 1. The company managing the appartement "forced" to have other people visiting the apartment.
2. The apartment is for sale and they organised a visit/viewing during my stay and although I refused to have people visiting the apartment, Booking threatened me that in the terms and conditions of the renting, I was obliged to accept visitors.
3. We stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks and they organised customer visits that came to the apartment, opened the door and walked around the apartment. It was a terrible experience!
