Overview
First Impressions
The Vanity Affair – Fitzrovia – By Frankie Says caught me off guard — honestly, I wasn’t expecting something this stylish tucked away in Westminster Borough. The name gives you a hint of what’s coming, but walking into the lobby, you get hit with this playful yet sophisticated vibe that feels distinctly London without being stuffy. It’s one of those places where you can tell someone actually thought about the design rather than just ordering furniture from a hotel catalog.
The Fitzrovia Connection
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re technically in Westminster Borough, but you’ve got easy access to Fitzrovia‘s creative energy just steps away. I mean, Fitzrovia’s always been this cool pocket where media types and artists hang out, and you can feel that influence in the hotel’s personality. You’ll find yourself walking to Charlotte Street for dinner or popping into the quirky independent shops along Tottenham Court Road without really planning to.
The Room Experience
My room was… well, let’s just say “vanity affair” makes perfect sense once you’re inside. The attention to detail in the furnishings is what you’d expect from a four-star property, but with personality — think carefully chosen artwork and lighting that actually works for both getting ready and winding down. The bathroom setup is particularly smart, with enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
Neighborhood Perks
What really works about this spot is how you’re positioned between different London worlds. Oxford Street’s shopping chaos is close enough when you need it, but you can escape to the quieter Fitzrovia streets when you’ve had enough. The transport links are solid too — multiple tube stations within walking distance, which honestly makes a huge difference when you’re trying to explore different parts of the city. There’s also this great little restaurant scene developing in the immediate area that most tourists completely miss.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t trying to be the fanciest hotel in London — it’s trying to be the most interesting one in its category, and it succeeds. The staff actually seem to enjoy working here, which you notice in small ways throughout your stay. Plus, that 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience how they’ve balanced style with genuine comfort — you know, the kind of place where you’d actually want to hang out in the lobby with a drink rather than just rushing through it.

"Perfect, unbeatable"
Excellent location, close to Oxford st, Regent st, Piccadilly, Soho, British Museum, Regents Park .... The flat is spacious, well laid out, comfortable, has everything you need for cooking, plus washing machine and dishwasher.
What could be improved: Just bear in mind that it is a third floor with no lift.

"Very clean, amazing location, will definitely be back"
The lay out was perfect not too big not too small, lovely room with big windows that opened. Heating was very easy to work and all the instructions were spot on.
What could be improved: Only thing would be the stairs, fortunately we didn’t have much luggage so wasn’t an issue

This apartment in Fitzrovia was simply great! Perfect location for exploring London on foot, with charming cafes, markets and stations nearby. The place was well equipped, quiet at night and with a cozy decor that made us feel at home. A perfect base for intense and delicious days in the city.

"perfect weekend away"
location is excellent and the flat has everything you could possibly need
What could be improved: it’s a little bit noisy as near a few pubs and restaurants, but this would not be different if it weee a hotel, that’s central London.

"Great, spacious, central London apartment."
We very much liked the central London location, close to several underground stations and walking distance to many restaurants and other amenities, but quieter, and more residential then some of the other more touristy, louder neighborhoods. The apartment itself was clean, spacious and very comfortable for a couple. The hosting company staff were responsive and generally helpful. It was a little loud at night given that there are several restaurants and bars directly below the front windows, but amazingly, we could not hear the noise when we were in the back bedroom.
What could be improved: Seems the facility is run a little more like a hotel and charged for extras, for example, the coffee maker was a high end Nexpresso machine that required custom pods only available at Nexpresso boutique shops or provided by the facility for an extra charge (aside from the 4 that were provided upon check in). For big coffee drinkers like ourselves, that was a bit of downer. Another example was as $40 surcharge if we wanted to extend the checkout by an hour. Also, the unit we had was a 3 floor walk up, which was clearly advertised, but folks should be aware.

"Great facilities and location - great for a long or short stay"
Great location, really clean and well thought out, lot's of space, great facilities, would stay again
What could be improved: Hot night and lack of Aircon - was clearly pointed out so not a surprise but a bit noisy in the bedroom with the window open due to other peoples aircon units outside. That said we had a great nights sleep

"A wonderful room for our family"
The room is the right size. A family of four lives comfortably. The kitchen is great. The living facilities are well equipped. The most satisfying thing is that the location of the room is very good. The British Museum, King's Cross railway station, Chinatown, Shopping streets, and Life Supermarket are all nearby. These attractions and places can be reached by walking.
What could be improved: The bedding, like the duvet cover, maybe a little old. The kitchen would be better off with a cutting board and more paper towels.

"Very good"
The location is amazing.
10 min walk only from Oxford Street.
Many coffees and restaurants in the street.
What could be improved: The ventilation noise outside coming from the restaurant next door (stops from 12pm to 9 am).
