Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Ritz London feels like stepping back into a golden age — and I mean that in the best possible way. The moment you’re through those doors on Piccadilly, you’re surrounded by this incredible sense of grandeur that somehow doesn’t feel stuffy or intimidating. The Palm Court catches your eye immediately with its soft lighting and elegant décor, and honestly, the afternoon tea service happening there just sets the tone for everything else you’ll experience.
Prime London Location
You really can’t beat this spot in London — right in the heart of everything but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of Oxford Street crowds. Green Park is literally across the street (perfect for morning walks), and you’re maybe a three-minute stroll to Bond Street’s luxury shopping. What I love is that you can easily walk to Covent Garden, the West End theaters, or even pop over to Mayfair without needing the Tube.
The Rooms and Luxury Details
The room I stayed in was everything you’d expect from a five-star property — but with those thoughtful touches that actually matter. The marble bathroom was genuinely spacious (rare in London), and the bed was one of those where you sink in just right. What struck me most was the attention to detail: fresh flowers changed daily, turndown service that felt personal rather than routine, and windows that actually open properly — you know how some luxury hotels seal you in completely.
Dining Excellence
The Ritz restaurant is where this place really shows off. The dining room is absolutely stunning — all gold and crystal and mirrors — but the food lives up to the setting. I had dinner there twice during my stay, and both meals were exceptional. Breakfast is served in the same space, and while it’s pricey (this is The Ritz, after all), the quality justifies it. The staff somehow manages to be attentive without hovering, which is honestly an art form.
Why Guests Love It
Look, The Ritz London isn’t trying to be trendy or reinvent hospitality — it’s perfecting a classic luxury experience that’s been refined for over a century. The service is impeccable in that old-school way where staff anticipate your needs before you voice them. Yes, it’s expensive, but you’re paying for an experience that feels genuinely special. The afternoon tea alone is worth experiencing once, and if you’re celebrating something important or just want to feel pampered in one of the world’s great cities, this place delivers exactly what it promises.
Guest reviews
"A place where the common man or woman is made to feel like royalty."
Staying at the Ritz is a privilege. From start to finish one was welcomed as a member of the Ritz family. The decor is outstanding, the staff attentive and profession - they are so friendly. The bedroom was perfect and exceeded all expectation. Every detail was attended to. Tea at the Ritz is an exceptional experience . Though it costs more than the average person can afford it is however, great value for what is given. A one night stay in one’s life would create a lasting cherished memory. I can only imagine the quality and attention in the staff training having seen how professional they all are. The business of the Ritz is the people and that’s what makes it.
What could be improved: Nothing at all - the bar is set and is so high. Never experienced anything like it before.

"The Ritz is everything it ought to be! Grand and glorious. A joy to stay at!"
We went for the very special occasion of my husband’s 90th birthday. It was just wonderful, the young man Pierre who checked us in was absolutely delightful and our stay was as smooth as satin and as sweet as honey.
What could be improved: No complaints!

"5-Star Hotel for 5-Star Guests"
Absolutely wonderful. The Ritz is in Mayfair neighborhood which is one of the most upscale and opulent areas of London and this hotel deserves to be in Mayfair, simply because this it's very upscale and very opulent. Right from where you climb up the stairs to the reception area and then to your room, you feel like royalty. Mr Noor at the reception and Mr Louis at the concierge desk are the best. The entire reputation of The Ritz depends on the front end staff like Mr Noor and Mr Louis. The decor, the breakfast, the rooms, everything and everyone is just top-notch. A big bang for your buck.
What could be improved: There's nothing I didn't like, perhaps maybe just one thing. There are separate faucets (taps) for hot water and cold water in the sink, which means you either burn your hands in piping hot water or freeze your hands in ice cold water. I have seen this in many hotels in London. Instead of one faucet which has inlets of both hot and cold water (so you can adjust the temperature to your liking), they install two separate taps (faucets). The logic behind this weird design is best known to them. Apart from this, nothing really stands out. This hotel is one of the bestest I have stayed in, and they have gained a permanent customer in me.

"Absolutely loved it."
This hotel maintains its lavish reputation. I love the traditional attire the staff wear and their exceptional standard of service. The hotel looks beautiful and the room was large which surprised me. The food was lovely too
What could be improved: This is a very expensive hotel, but compared to others in the same pricing category, I think this one excels for its standard and traditional British feel.
