Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to The Pearl of Notting Hill on Pembridge Road, you immediately get that “boutique hotel done right” feeling. It’s tucked into one of those classic white Victorian townhouses that make this part of London so photogenic, but there’s something more polished about it than your typical B&B. The entrance feels intimate rather than grand — which honestly works perfectly for the neighborhood vibe.
The Notting Hill Experience
You know what I love about staying here? You’re literally in the heart of one of London’s most walkable areas, but on a quieter residential street that doesn’t get the full tourist chaos. Portobello Market is maybe a three-minute stroll, and I mean the real market — not just the souvenir bit that everyone photographs. The Tube station at Notting Hill Gate is close enough that you’re never stranded, but far enough that you don’t hear the rumble at night.
The Room
The rooms at this four-star spot are what I’d call “thoughtfully designed” rather than flashy. My room had this perfect balance of period features — original moldings, tall windows — mixed with modern touches that actually make sense. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a Victorian conversion, and the shower pressure was genuinely excellent (you’d be amazed how often London hotels mess this up). There’s good storage space too, which matters when you’re unpacking for more than just a night or two.
Dining and Atmosphere
The breakfast situation here is solid — not groundbreaking, but done well with quality ingredients and served in a lovely dining room that gets great morning light. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to actually remember guests’ preferences after a day or two. The little bar area becomes quite cozy in the evenings, and it’s the kind of place where you might end up chatting with other travelers without it feeling forced or awkward.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about The Pearl of Notting Hill — it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The location puts you in one of London’s most charming neighborhoods, the service feels personal rather than corporate, and the building itself has genuine character. It’s not trying to compete with the big chain hotels on amenities, but for exploring this part of London, it’s honestly hard to beat. The value makes sense too, especially considering you’re staying somewhere with real personality in one of the city’s most desirable postcodes.

"Superb"
Neat tidy and clean place to stay. The location is excellent, being very close to tube, bus, shops, and Kensington park. All information was accurate, and the host was responsive to communicate with ensuring a great stay for our family of 4.
What could be improved: Nothing really, other than the stairs are tricky getting bags up, but you can't change anything with that...pack lighter.

"Modern 2 Bed, 2 bath flat that is conveniently located!"
Beautiful, modern and well maintained 2 bed, 2 bath flat. Very convenient location - literally next to the Notting Hill tube station and many buses outside the door. There’s several supermarkets (Tesco, Waitrose and M&S food) and Boots just across the road from the flat. Nice size flat for us. Well equipped for all our needs. Tv had many stations. Kenan was a lovely host who responded quickly. It wasn’t a major issue for us but the beautiful apartment is on the second and third floor. We would definitely come back again.

"Exceptional"
Location! Location! Location! Beautiful, clean apt with plenty of space and a cozy feel. There are several short flights of stairs to enter but it’s not a deal breaker. Host was very helpful with our needs. Apt is on a perfectly located but busy street in Notting Hill and alarmingly quiet inside. Loved our stay here
What could be improved: One bathroom has a shower the other does not. We made it work.

"An unforgettable trip filled with comfort, convenience, and the charm of Notting Hill!"
I had a wonderful stay at the Pearl of Notting Hill! The location is unbeatable – right above the underground station and within walking distance of the vibrant Portobello Road, with its charming market and shops. Having a Tesco nearby was incredibly convenient for grabbing essentials and snacks.
The property itself is clean, modern, and feels brand new. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings added to the comfort of my stay. It was the perfect blend of style and practicality.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and well-located stay in London. I would definitely book again!

"Truely a pearl in the heart of Notting Hill"
The location and ease of navigating the city made our stay great. The property isn’t absolutely pristine in terms of clean carpets or walls etc. but that wasn’t a huge issue for us. The apartment was equipped with all the mod cons and comforts to make it homely and most noise (bar the emergency sirens) was blocked out by the double glassed windows.
What could be improved: Navigating the stairs with our luggage was the only downfall, luckily we only needed to do this on arrival and departure. Having to also take the rubbish out and put it in the bin or on the street was different to what we are used to.
