Overview
First Impressions
The Melbray Gem – 2BDR Apartment with Courtyard sits quietly on a residential street in Fulham, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you didn’t know what you were looking for. That’s actually part of its charm — this four-star apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed flat than a typical hotel. The building itself is classic London Victorian, with those white-painted facades that somehow always look freshly done.
The Space Itself
Walking into this two-bedroom setup, I was struck by how much natural light floods the main living area. The kitchen is properly equipped — not just the usual hotel kitchenette nonsense, but actual counter space and appliances you’d want to use. The courtyard (which is really more of a private garden area) becomes your little oasis, especially on those surprisingly warm London afternoons when you just want to sit outside with a coffee.
Location Reality Check
Here’s what they don’t always tell you: Fulham isn’t Zone 1, but it’s genuinely better for certain things. You’re a pleasant walk from the Thames Path, which I mean, beats fighting tourists around Westminster any day. The Fulham Broadway tube gets you into central London in about 20 minutes, and there’s actual parking on the street if you’re brave enough to drive in the city. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel — real pubs, corner shops that locals actually use, tree-lined streets where you can actually hear yourself think.
What Works Day to Day
The two bedrooms mean you’re not cramped if you’re traveling with family or friends, and each room has decent storage space. I appreciated the washer-dryer combo — sounds small, but when you’re staying more than a few days, it makes a difference. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the place, which you know can be hit or miss in these older London buildings. The courtyard becomes your morning coffee spot, and in the evenings, well, it’s nice to have somewhere to decompress that isn’t just another hotel room.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
This place gets an 8.2 rating because it delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. You get the space and privacy of having your own London flat, but with the reliability of proper hotel management. The courtyard gives you that outdoor space that’s genuinely rare in London accommodations. Plus, staying in Fulham means you’re living like a local rather than just passing through — and honestly, that’s worth the extra few minutes on the tube.
Exploring London blends royal heritage, UNESCO landmarks, and vibrant neighborhoods glowing with golden-hour light.

"It was lovely except for lack of fans and unfortunately the noise from the trains and planes which is unavoidable"
Lovely and stylish
What could be improved: Too hot in Summer , no fans or air conditioner
The trains and planes kept us awake

"Fantastic Apartment"
The apartment was absolutely beautiful, way exceeded our expectations. Very handy being a 4 minute to District Line Tube stop
What could be improved: Check in procedure was a nightmare. Took 1.5hrs to access the key box. They gave us the wrong access codes and service was terrible to correct it. They need to provide a direct mobile not a 3rd party operator

"Very good"
Everything
What could be improved: We had a challenge on our first night trying to switch on heating. We sent an email but it was not responded to. We sugggest that there be someone to show guests around on their first night. Even if just for 10mins. Secondly we complained about the cooker not working, while we appreciate that majority of communication is online, it would have show some proactiveness, care and respect to get someone over to check our problem and have it resolved even if not immediately.

"Well-maintained property in a good location."
Very good location in Fulham as close to public transport & main arterial roads. Spacious with 2 good bedrooms & comfortable living area.
What could be improved: Checking-in process was a little cumbersome. Had to chase up for details.

"Good"
The apartment is spacious and very new. Loved there were two bathrooms. The tube and bus are very close by to the apartment.
What could be improved: The bed in the second bedroom was quite small. We got the wrong internet password and had to email with them back and forth in order to get the right one. The apartment was not properly cleaned (vacuumed and dusted), but they sent somebody over the second day. The house does not have AC, so we were pretty much boiling at night ( 26 degrees inside the apartment), and the staff were of no help in terms of helping us adjust the thermostat...
The fact that you also have to TRANSFER the deposit before you check in is also slightly off putting, and they also have showings of the apartmentwhile you are checked in...

The unit was spacious and clean.
What could be improved: The master shower drained really slow. Window in second bedroom did not open.

"Chaotic to book, but lovely place- GET NEW ADMINISTRATORS"
Beds were comfortable, had everything we needed, including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Plus toiletries, washing machine detergent pods and dishwasher tablets. Really close to the Putney Bridge (tube) train station on the District Line. Great pubs, cafes and shops all close by.
What could be improved: Keys not there on arrival, code give, but no keys in lock box. Could not reach the people to obtain them immediately, as they did not respond to emails or calls, even whatsapp! Eventually got through and given another lock box code and we were able to get the cleaners keys. Definitely not what you need after travelling for 30 hours to get there. Multiple open homes on a 3 night stay was very disruptive, including the owner coming in to water the garden, even though we had rain and were only there 3 nights. CRAZY ANNOYING. Huge deposit required and very poor conflicting communication along with an extra contract for the property, which I completed days prior, then on the days prior to arrival, when i am.in trabsit and trying to get entrance information they refused to give, as said I had not completed their forms. An absolute pain in the backside to deal with really. They were so disorganised. Carpets and floors not very clean, especially after each opening. Cleaners came before to do a tidy up, but not after to clean floors. I ended up cleaning their walls of the scuff marks left behind. Chopping board mouldy, as left flat in kitchen drawer.

"Lovely place, comfortable and quiet, a good base for exploring London"
The apartment was immaculate with lovely modern furniture, comfortable beds and decent location. Really quiet and in a lovely part of Fulham. A good base for exploring.
What could be improved: When we arrived the code for the key access did not work. We phoned and it took a 30 minute call to reactivate the code.

"Short stay with a frustrating beginning"
It was clean and comfortable and well equipped
What could be improved: It was confusing trying to get in - it took us an hour in the dark and cold. It turned out o ce we managed to locate the key box that there were no keys inside. We very nearly went to a hotel for the night so made it a very disappointing trip
