Overview
First Impressions
The E17 Suite sits on Roberts Road in a way that honestly surprised me — it’s tucked into this residential stretch of Walthamstow that feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than checking into a typical hotel. The building itself has that converted Victorian charm you find all over East London, but they’ve done something smart with the interiors that makes it feel fresh without trying too hard.
The Local Scene
You know what I love about this spot? Walthamstow Village is literally a ten-minute walk away, and that area has some of the best independent coffee shops and vintage stores in East London. Plus, you’re actually close to the William Morris Gallery if you’re into that sort of thing — I mean, not everyone is, but it’s there. The Blackhorse Road tube station isn’t far either, which gets you into central London in about 20 minutes on a good day.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was spacious for London standards — actually spacious, not just “for London” spacious. They’ve got this modern setup with a proper kitchenette that includes everything you’d need if you want to grab groceries from the nearby Sainsbury’s and cook something up. The bed was comfortable, and honestly, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, which seems simple but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong.
Practical Details
This three-star place handles the basics really well without any unnecessary frills. There’s parking available, which is genuinely useful in this part of London where street parking can be a nightmare. The check-in process was straightforward, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood — they gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious chains.
Why Guests Love It
Look, The E17 Suite works because it gets the fundamentals right in a part of London that’s becoming increasingly popular but hasn’t lost its character yet. You’re not paying zone 1 prices, but you’re still well-connected to everything. The whole setup feels like you’re staying somewhere with personality rather than just another generic hotel room, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re visiting London.
Guest reviews
"A very pleasant stay (minuses: the distance from the centre of London, no AC, loud neighbours)"
We really liked the design of the housing. The bathroom was lovely and the kitchen also had everything necessary. Also liked the ability to watch different streaming platforms on the TV. The owner was also very polite and replied to our messages quickly.
What could be improved: The distance from the centre from London was a bit too long (around 45 minutes, depending where headed and using at least one bus and underground/overground). When we arrived during night time during our first night, we didn't know that the 1st floor was also rented out so we were a bit startled when someone greeted us from the other apartment. Also during night time the neighbours were quite loud which made it difficult to sleep. During our stay it was also very hot outside so the housing was also quite warm and without having AC we had to resort to opening windows but because the apartment was near the highway you could hear a lot of traffic noises.

"Good"
What could be improved: No hand rails on the stairs and opening directly at the top which you have to pass to get from the bedroom living area from the bath room and kitchen which had a step or 2 in between someone could potentially easily fall down these

"Clean and spacious but with a poor bed."
- The flat was very clean especially the bathroom.
- The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, cooking equipment and cleaning products as well as a good washing machine.
- Helpful host: requested instructions on how to operate the heating and had a quick response.
- The location was fair.
What could be improved: - Unfortunately very noisy neighbour : playing very loud thumping music very late one night.
- The bed is extremely poor: the mattress is very lumpy soft and very uncomfortable.
- The flat was clean but did have a smell of old cigarette smoke, possibly from the flat below.
- The flat is accessed only by very narrow and steep stairs.
- Not enough plug sockets.

"Good apartment shame its lacking some TLC"
Well equipped kitchen and nice bathroom good wifi.
What could be improved: Bed was very soft and uncomfortable base of the bed was broken difficult to work the TV. Had one towel when we arrived asked for another bath and hand towel got the bath towel. Could be a great apartment with a better bed TV etc

"Lovely little place, shame about the bed"
Everything else. The whole place was spotless, fully equipped, it saved us money being able to cook breakfast before we left for the day sightseeing.
What could be improved: The only criticism is the bed. If the bed had a headboard and a decent mattress this place would be 10/10. Because of the laminate floor the bed moved away from the wall when getting into bed and throughout the night, the pillows would then slip off the bed.

"Good"
A big apartment, clean and good communication with the host
What could be improved: The bed in the bedroom is very soft so bad for sleeping. The neighbourhood is also not great, it takes a bus to reach the subway.
