The Cellar
First Impressions
The Cellar isn’t what you’d expect from its name — it’s actually a charming ground-floor apartment tucked away on a quiet residential street in West London. When I first walked down Sinclair Gardens, I almost missed it entirely because it blends so naturally into the elegant Victorian terrace. The entrance is understated, which honestly makes it feel more like you’re staying at a friend’s place than checking into a typical hotel.
Location & Getting Around
You’re right in the heart of Hammersmith and Fulham, and I mean that in the best possible way. The area feels properly London — tree-lined streets, local pubs on the corner, and actual neighbors walking their dogs. Kensington Olympia station is about a 10-minute walk, which gets you into central London without the tourist crowds that swarm around other areas. There’s decent parking on the street if you’re driving, though you know how London parking can be.
The Space
This three-star setup works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The apartment has this lived-in feel — comfortable furniture, decent lighting, and a proper kitchen that actually functions (I made coffee and toast without any drama). The room isn’t huge, but there’s enough space to spread out your stuff, and the bed was surprisingly good for the price point. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re still in London.
Practical Stuff That Matters
The kitchen setup is honestly one of the better things about staying here — you can grab groceries from the Tesco Express down the road and actually cook something decent instead of eating out every meal. The Wi-Fi works fine, the shower has proper pressure, and there’s enough storage space for a week’s worth of clothes. It’s those small things that make a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two.
Why Guests Love It
Look, The Cellar won’t win any design awards, but it gets the fundamentals right at a fair price. You’re paying for a real London experience in a neighborhood where locals actually live, not some sanitized hotel corridor in Zone 1. The 7.5 rating makes sense — it’s solid, reliable, and gives you that authentic feeling of being a temporary London resident rather than just another tourist passing through.
London’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike routes to hidden mews streets.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
