Overview
First Impressions
You know what caught me off guard about Sweet night? This unique boutique hotel without official star rating sits tucked away on Angel Road in Loughborough Junction, and honestly, it’s one of those places you’d walk right past if you didn’t know what you were looking for. The entrance is understated — almost secretive — which actually works in its favor once you’re inside.
Location & Neighborhood
Loughborough Junction isn’t exactly tourist central, but that’s sort of the point. You’re in proper south London here, where locals actually live and work. The area’s got this genuine, unpolished vibe that feels refreshing after all those sanitized hotel districts. There’s a decent curry house two minutes down the road, and the train connections are actually pretty solid — you can get into central London without the usual hassle, though it’ll take you about 20-25 minutes depending on where you’re headed.
The Space
Sweet night feels more like staying in someone’s thoughtfully designed apartment than a traditional hotel. The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly laid out, with this mix of vintage furniture and modern touches that somehow worked together. The bed was surprisingly comfortable — I mean, really comfortable — and there’s decent storage space for a few days’ worth of stuff.
Practical Details
Don’t expect room service or a concierge desk, because that’s not what this place is about. There’s a small kitchenette area that’s perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing leftovers from that curry place I mentioned. The bathroom’s tiny but functional, with good water pressure (always important, right?). Parking can be a bit of a puzzle — it’s mostly street parking around here, so factor that in if you’re driving.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Sweet night — it’s not trying to be something it’s not. The 7.8 rating makes sense when you understand what you’re getting: a clean, quirky place to sleep in an authentic London neighborhood, without paying central London prices. It’s perfect if you want to experience the city like someone who actually lives here, rather than bouncing between tourist attractions. The staff (when you see them) are genuinely helpful, and there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on the basics and does them well.
Guest reviews
"While there a few small inconveniences the stay was overall very enjoyable and would recommend."
The location was very nice there were corner shops for late night snacking as well as provided cutlery, plates and bowls which was very convenient. The bed was very comfortable and the coffee and tea provided was also very nice.
What could be improved: The shower heads needs to be fixed as there was water leaking both from the head and the tap itself. There was no TV so it was hard to pass the time and the wifi wasn't very strong.

"Great value for money, convenient location at Brixton"
Studio apartment had everything you might need for a short stay. Even an iphone charger in case you forgot yours! I was pleasantly surprised with a great selection of tea that was available at the property. The area was quiet and a short walk from the bus stop or underground station.
What could be improved: The property had a faint smell of smoke when we entered but I suspect it was due to the window being left open and somebody smoking outside. It also had a faint smell of sewage in the bathroom however you couldn’t smell it in the room.

"Everything was good enough."
There is a good location, but not the right address.
The right address is 92 Angell Road
What could be improved: There is very weak water pressure in the shower,
and there are incense sticks with an excessively strong, obtrusive smell, but they can be covered with a condom.
There are only two big and one small towels for two people for a week.

"Very good"
Easy access, code for front door and room, bit grotty outside but room was large, clean and great location for Brixton.
Safe area.
What could be improved: Slightly jaded, but good value and perfectly adequate.

"Amazing value, neat and tidy apartment"
Clean, tidy apartment with clean bedsheets and towels, a nice functional kitchen and a neat bathroom. Everything was up to par, the bed is on the smaller side but we (two 6' guys) were able to sleep well on it. Doors are opened via PIN and the hosts were very friendly and helpful in chat (we did not meet them). Loughborough station and the O2 Academy Brixton are just a quick stroll away. Amazing value.
What could be improved: Nitpicking: bathroom was a bit musty, nothing a quick airing out did not solve.

"Great for an overnight for a gig"
Bed was super comfy, great kitchen facilities
Friendly neighbours
Quiet area close to O2 academy Brixton
What could be improved: No lock to lock the door from the inside just the coded lock on front door which made me feel uncomfortable
Entrance and corridor light didn't work so had to use torch on phone
Only 2 super thin pillows so had to fold them to sleep

"Disappointing stay, better to stick to other well-lit areas of London."
The room was on the first floor and not much higher which would've been problematic with luggage
What could be improved: The stay mentioned the apartment having a washing machine which was factually incorrect - spoke to the accommodation, but they refused to budge - instead pointing me to a public washing machine on the ground floor which was coin-operated. Bathroom smelled really bad, the area was dark and isolated in the late evening/ night making travel from the tube station feel a bit unsafe.
