When I first walked up to Super 1BD Garden Flat Islington London on Corporation Street, I’ll be honest — it’s not the kind of place that screams “look at me” from the outside. But that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star property sits quietly in a proper Victorian terrace, and you get the sense you’re staying somewhere locals actually live, not just another tourist trap.
The Neighborhood Feel
What I love about this spot in Islington is how genuinely residential it feels. You’re on Corporation Street, which sounds a bit corporate but is actually this lovely tree-lined road where you’ll see people walking their dogs and heading to the local shops. The area has that North London vibe — not as polished as South Kensington, but way more authentic. There’s a proper pub called The Hemingway just around the corner, and honestly, the locals there will give you better restaurant recommendations than any guidebook.
The Space Itself
The apartment is what really won me over. It’s a proper one-bedroom flat, not some cramped hotel room where you’re living out of a suitcase. The kitchen actually works — I mean, you can cook a real meal here if you want to. The garden access is the real treat though; there’s something quite nice about having your morning coffee outside when the weather cooperates, which in London… well, you know how that goes.
Getting Around
Transport-wise, you’re sorted. Caledonian Road & Barnsbury station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and that gets you into central London without the usual Tube chaos. I actually prefer this slightly off-the-beaten-path location because you avoid the tourist crowds but you’re still, what, fifteen minutes from King’s Cross? The buses along Caledonian Road are pretty reliable too, which locals will tell you matters more than having the flashiest Tube station right outside.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this place scores an 8.4 for good reason. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — no fancy lobby or uniformed staff — but it delivers on what matters. You get space, you get a proper kitchen setup, and you’re living like an actual Londoner for a bit. The garden flat thing isn’t just marketing speak either; having that outdoor space in London feels like a genuine luxury, especially if you’re traveling with someone and need a bit of breathing room.

"A very nice stay. Breakfast on the patio… wonderful"
I really liked this cute apartment and especially the patio where we could eat breakfast every morning, enjoying a wonderful smell of jasmine flowers. It was very quiet, in a nice residential area, not far from the Caledonian Road underground station. I would stay there again.
What could be improved: The water in the shower was scorching hot, it was not possible to regulate the temperature and take a cold or lukewarm shower (which would have been great in hot weather). The deposit was high (300 pounds) and because of the currency exchange differences we got back a bit less than we paid.

location of the apartment is really beneficial:
1 it is situated on the Piccadilly metro line, same with the Heathrow airport/Piccadilly circus/ Covent Garden/ Kings cross railway station/ museum quarter and many more famous places.
2 it is really close to the city center
3 there are stores and cafes near the apartment
4 it is not fare from the metro station and from bus stops
5 it is a quiet place ( we traveled with our little one) + there is a small playground around.
when we arrived, it was clean enough.

What could be improved: There was no hygiene kit presented. There were not enough paper towels.Also, we didn't find a bed set ready for our kid.
The water regulation in the shower works a bit odd.
Our sign in was not nice because the representative was late for 1 hour and was quite not friendly.
But together with this I have to say that support team worked fast with all our complaints and helped us.

What could be improved: Could give more info to park the car - like a heads-up to buy a visitors parking ticket, to avoid high costs.

What could be improved: Hot water did not work and maintenance guy did not want to remedy the problem that night. He finally walked me through how to get hot water started. There was also no manual or instruction on how to operated washer

What could be improved: The dishwasher was broken, no coffeemashine, 2 little very dirty italian coffeemashines...in the bathroom, the light was broken, in the shower the water was too hot, you can't regulate it and you can't mix it with cold water, the water tap was broken

"We expected a better stay. No value for money."
The location is OK, not far from the city centre (by bus some 25 mins). Some shops close by. Wifi was good. The host Krista was a very kind and helpful. There is a small terrace.
What could be improved: Toaster full of crumbs, dirty table cover and kitchen cloth. Thin walls: we could hear the neighbors making strange noises until 2 h in the morning one night, could not sleep. Only thick, very warm bed linen provided, not suitable for the temperatures on the days we stayed. Huge 300 pound safety deposit required before check-in. Extremely smelly refrigerator, to the point that the smell stays in the food and makes it uneatable - probably due to chemical cleaning product - terrible, never experienced this before. The water in the shower was at best mild and could not be set to a bit hotter - kids hated it. No salt or pepper in the apartment.

La vicinanza alla metro e ai servizi come supermercati/ bar, la pulizia e anche la disponibilità e tempestività di Mark nel rispondere ai messaggi durante le sue giornate per consigli di vario genere.
