What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything was arranged — the ensuite bathroom is compact but perfectly functional, and honestly, after a long day exploring London, that’s what you actually need. The double bed takes up most of the space, but it’s comfortable and the linens feel quality without being pretentious.
Location Reality Check
Newham isn’t going to win any beauty contests, but here’s what the travel guides won’t tell you — you’re incredibly well-connected to the rest of London from here. Stratford station is close enough that you can reach central London without the premium prices of staying in Zone 1. I mean, you’ll save enough on accommodation to actually enjoy those expensive West End shows or fancy dinners in Shoreditch.
The Neighborhood Experience
This area gives you a real slice of London life that most tourists never see. There’s a decent corner shop practically next door, and the local pub (yes, there’s always a local pub) serves proper fish and chips without the tourist markup. You know what I appreciated most? The quiet evenings — something you definitely won’t get if you’re staying near Leicester Square or Oxford Street.

less than ten min walk to Stratford tube, very friendly host and family, heater on 24/7, stable wifi, cleaner service included in cost, ironing board provided, large desk, washing machine available and plenty of storage space

"The stay met my expectations, and I was very comfortable. Thanks!"
The location was convenient to the tube system, Olympic Park, and there was easy road access to Essex and to Stansted Airport. Michael was a gracious host- the check in and check out were straightforward, and he was always helpful and quickly responsive to any questions or concerns. The bed was comfortable,there was storage space for my clothes, and the bathroom was clean and fully functional. I also appreciated the microwave, the coffee and tea, and the ironing board! Wi-fi was good.
What could be improved: I would have liked access to a fridge to keep food, milk, etc. fresh. Ideally the room would have had a door lock, but I was expecting that from earlier reviews and it was not an issue for me.

"A nice staying"
The host was very kind and helpful. The room had all the basic things we needed. Also very close to public transport (buses and metro). The center of the city was very accessable.
What could be improved: A locker at the private room would be nice addition.

"Well connected budget stay, good value for the money"
Well connected to underground transportation - 10' walk to nearest station, 12' to Stratford station.
What could be improved: The apartment felt a bit worn, but the location was perfect. It could use some TLC, but the charm was undeniable, location was good and it was good value for the money.

"Very good"
Good location, Stratford Centre is 10 min walk from the house, so the city center is easily accessible via public transportation. Michael was a really kind and helpful host. Room was perfect for a quick visit to London.

"Pretty good value for money"
Michael is very polite and attentive towards his guests.
What could be improved: The room/bathroom could be a bit cold for somebody like us coming from the south of Italy as we're not used to this cold weather. (We visited in January) The room is overall alright, especially if you're planning to visit the city during the day and stay in the room to sleep only. I would suggest a warmer/thicker duvet; the sheets were quite cold. Also they didn't have a hairdryer.

"We loved the stay and hope we can visit again."
Easy to get from Stansted Airport.
Stratford station is close (all means of transport available; railway, underground, overground, DLR, busses...)
It is very easy to get into the centre of the city, because you have a lot of options and connections, and the trains go every few minutes.
The place is lovely and clean. The bed was comfortable, it is in a safe location and it is a great place for that price.
Michael, the owner is very nice and kind, always checking about your stay.

"EXCELLENT LOCATION, CLEANLINESS, AND PRICE"
My daughter and I liked that the room had a private bathroom and a refrigerator, but most of all, we loved how easy it was to get there. There are several underground lines nearby, and the Jubilee Line starts (or ends) at Stratford. From there, you can take a bus that drops you off right at the corner of the house, which is located in a gated area.
Michael is a very attentive, helpful, and above all, kind and respectful person. Without a doubt, I would stay here again. Thank you, Michael!
Also, the place is very clean, and the price is amazing — especially for London.
It also has a large shopping center nearby — Westfield.
