Stylish 2 Bedroom in North Finchley is one of those places that surprises you — honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the name, but this apartment turned out to be a real gem. It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street, and when you first walk up to the Victorian building, you get this sense that you’re about to discover something special. The flat itself occupies the entire fourth floor, and I mean, the space just opens up beautifully once you’re inside.

What struck me most was how thoughtfully everything’s been put together — the two bedrooms are genuinely spacious (not those cramped London boxes you sometimes get), and the living area actually feels like somewhere you’d want to spend time. The kitchen is probably my favorite part, honestly — it’s got everything you need if you’re planning to cook, plus there’s this lovely dining area where you can spread out with coffee and maps in the morning. The whole place has this modern-meets-classic London vibe that just works.

Getting Around North Finchley

Here’s what I really appreciated about staying in North Finchley — you’re close enough to central London that you don’t feel cut off, but far enough out that you get a proper neighborhood feel. The Northern line from Woodside Park station is about a ten-minute walk, and it’ll get you into the city center in maybe 30 minutes. But honestly, I found myself exploring the local area quite a bit — there’s a surprisingly good selection of cafes and shops along the high street.

Local Life

What you don’t expect is how much character this part of London has. There’s a proper community feel here that you miss in the more touristy areas, and I actually enjoyed my morning walks to grab coffee from the local spots. The parking situation is decent too — which, if you know London, is saying something. You’re also really close to some lovely green spaces, and I mean genuinely lovely, not just “London lovely.”

I think what makes this place work so well is that it gives you space to actually live a bit while you’re visiting London, rather than just crash between sightseeing sessions. The host clearly knows what travelers need — reliable wifi, proper shower pressure, blackout curtains that actually block out light. "Excellent compromis entre le tarif du métro et le prix du logement"
Les échanges avec la personne en charge de notre dossier de location ont été excellents : très réactive et professionnelle. L'appartement était impeccable, pratique, très confortable et parfaitement équipé. Tout est neuf, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. La présence d’une machine à laver et d’un sèche-linge est un vrai plus, surtout pour alléger les bagages — un vrai gain économique ! Même si le logement se situe en zone 4 pour le métro, cela reste un bon compromis. Il faut compter environ 45 minutes pour rejoindre le centre de Londres. L’appartement se trouve à seulement 7 minutes à pied de la gare de Woodside Park, sur la Northern Line (la ligne noire), qui dessert les principales stations de la ville. C’est très pratique et c’est ce qui compense largement la distance par rapport à l’hyper-centre. Entre le coût un peu plus élevé des transports et le tarif avantageux de la location, le bilan est positif. Le quartier est calme, agréable, et loin du tumulte de la ville. En revanche, il faut prévoir 15 à 20 minutes de marche pour accéder aux commerces alimentaires. L’idéal est donc de faire ses courses en centre-ville avant de rentrer.
