First Impressions
Stunning 2 bed flat in Richmond sits on a quiet residential street in Kew — and honestly, the name doesn’t oversell it. When you first walk up to this converted Victorian house, you get that “oh, this is actually really nice” feeling. The building has character without being stuffy, and there’s something reassuring about being on a proper tree-lined street rather than stuck above a busy road.
The Space
This apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical rental. The two bedrooms are genuinely spacious — I mean, you can actually move around the bed without doing that awkward sideways shuffle. The living area has these big windows that let in loads of natural light, and the whole place has been done up with that clean, modern look that photographs well but actually feels comfortable to live in.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Kew — you’re close enough to central London (about 30 minutes on the District line), but you wake up to birds instead of sirens. Kew Gardens is literally a ten-minute walk away, which is perfect if you want to escape the city chaos for a bit. The high street has proper local shops and cafes where you can grab decent coffee and pastries without paying tourist prices.
Practical Details
The kitchen is properly equipped — not just a kettle and some sad cutlery. You can actually cook here if you want to save money or just fancy a quiet night in. There’s parking available too, which anyone who’s tried to drive in London will appreciate. The whole setup works well for couples or small families who want a bit more space than your typical hotel room offers.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this three-star place apart is how it manages to feel both homey and well-maintained. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you experience the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, reliable Wi-Fi, and a shower with actual water pressure. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff, make a cup of tea when you want it, and not feel like you’re living out of a suitcase.

"A fine spot in Kew Gardens - close to the Royal Botanic"
Convenient location. Easy walk to Kew Gardens and the District line that runs into Central London. Many services and restaurants just steps away. Flat is neat, organized, and thoughtfully stocked.
What could be improved: Keys are kept at the convenience store on the other side of the tracks. Makes arrival and access a little anxiety provoking. It all worked out though. Hosting is competent, but corporate and anonymous. Details not shared till the day before the visit starts. Understand the business model, and am grateful for the opportunity to stay here - just prefer a name and a face. :-)

"A few needed changes and this could be the best place to stay in Kew."
Proximity to public transportation made it easy to visit Chelsea Flower Show and Central London while staying in a lovely peaceful neighborhood. Great location with nice local cafe and dining. Kew Gardens Victoria Gate is a short walk through nice streets. Loved the washer dryer. The apartment was very clean, quiet building, street noise died off 10:30pm to 6:00am. The queen bed was very firm but comfy with nice sheets.
What could be improved: Keys were a 40 min round trip walk to a convenience store pickup/drop off - important to know before arriving with bags from an international flight. We took Uber from the airport so could stop to get key, but the code given did not work and the convenience store clerk was just a middle man. We called a support number specifically for getting the key, and they said the key hadn’t been dropped off yet. Uber dropped bags and husband on bench near apartment and I walked back to make time for the key to be delivered to the convenience store. The code still didn’t work, support number said I had to contact owner for a new code, finally got code, and walked back to get us in. On leaving, we had a morning flight out of Gatwick so I needed to take a round trip Uber to drop the key at the convenience store before going on the underground for Gatwick airport. I was asked to send a photo to confirm drop off.
The large bed in the front bedroom had a very thin futon mattress, it would be like sleeping on a sheet on the wood floor. There was just two of us, so we slept in the back bedroom with an extra firm mattress which was comfortable. The fold out couch sagged into a V when we sat on it. We didn’t unfold it, so I can’t vouch either way for the comfort of the bed. The toilet buttons were broken and would stick 8/10 flushes and we had to fiddle to stop the water. The tub/shower was narrow and slippery, hard to safely stand up to shower and hard to get out.
With a lock box on the kitchen door, new bed and pull out couch, a rubber bath mat, and fixed buttons on the toilet it would be the top place to stay in Richmond. It is lovely and has great potential!

"Es ist ein gemütliches, sehr gut ausgestattetes Apartment mit einer zuvorkommenden Gastgeberin."
Die Lage war ideal für meine Bedürfnisse. Das Apartment war perfekt ausgestattet. Bei einem kleinen Problem war die Gastgeberin sofort erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Infrastruktur in der Umgebung ließ keine Wünsche offen – U-Bahn, Bus, kleiner Supermarkt, Bäckerei, Bar, Pizzeria, Café, Friseur – alles war bequem zu Fuß erreichbar.
