I’ll be honest — finding STARS LUXURY HOME tucked away on Mantle Road took a bit of wandering, but that’s actually part of its charm. This apartment-style accommodation feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a traditional hotel. The building itself is unassuming from the outside, but once you’re inside Apartment 8, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something quite special in London’s South East.
The Lewisham Experience
Look, Lewisham isn’t going to win any beauty contests, but it’s got character — and you’re genuinely well-connected here. The DLR station is a short walk away, which means you can reach Canary Wharf in about 15 minutes, and honestly, that’s faster than most Zone 1 hotels can manage. There’s a decent Turkish restaurant around the corner that locals actually use, plus a Tesco Express for those inevitable midnight snack runs.
The Space Itself
The room — well, it’s really more of a self-contained unit — surprised me with how thoughtfully it’s been set up. There’s a proper kitchen with everything you’d actually need (not just a kettle and some hope), and the living area feels spacious enough that you won’t go stir-crazy if the weather turns. The bed’s comfortable, though the pillows are a bit soft for my taste, and there’s decent storage space, which you know is rare in London.
Practical Details
What I appreciated most was how straightforward everything felt. Parking can be sorted on the street — it’s not the easiest, but it’s doable and won’t bankrupt you like central London would. The Wi-Fi actually works properly (tested it on multiple video calls), and the heating responds when you adjust it. Small things, maybe, but they matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re getting a proper London base without the tourist markup, in a neighborhood where real people live and work. It’s perfect if you want to experience the city like a temporary resident rather than a visitor passing through. The 8.2 rating makes sense — it’s not perfect, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy touches in the world.

"I would book it again."
Our stay here was wonderful. We were only in London for 3 days, but we regret that it couldn't have been longer. We were given a very friendly welcome (even though we arrived much later than announced and only late at night, sorry) and had a very clean, lovingly furnished room, which was the perfect starting point for exploring London. The bed was soft, the blankets cozy. The proximity to the tube was seen as an advantage, passing trains weren't really a nuisance. But we were also constantly out and about in the city and always came back completely exhausted. The room is as shown in the pictures and everything we needed was there and working. The bathroom was also spotlessly clean. We were able to ask questions at any time and the help was always very friendly and quick. I was actually looking for a hotel room, but I think this choice was much better. There is a small shop in the building, so shopping was no problem either. We plan to come back one day, as we didn't manage to see many of the sights. All the best.
What could be improved: Travelling by tube is easy, but takes more time than expected, and the night schedule needs improvement. I have no criticism of the host or the room.

"Perfect location for visiting relatives who live in Brockley"
Excellent location for us close to family we were visiting. Trains were not running over weekend we stayed so was very quiet. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Will use again
What could be improved: Sharing bathroom was ok as shared with family. But not sure I would feel as comfortable if sharing with strangers. Bu5 faciliaties very clean and comfortable

"Great place to stay and very reasonable price."
The staff were absolutely amazing, rushed to help us with our luggage upon arrival and the room was cleaned and bed made up daily, couldn't have asked for more! The shower was amazing too. Water replenished daily, there was milk in the fridge, ice in the freezer and a Corkscrew which was a lifesaver for me, tea, coffee and pan au chocolate too. Honestly much better than I anticipated.
What could be improved: The noise of trains, but to counter balance that we had the shortest walk to get to it, which for my husband (he had a knee replacement not long ago) was absolutely perfect, you can't have everything and being so exhausted after a day of sight seeing it was absolutely fine to fall asleep.

"Great value for money"
Host was lovely, very kind and both the room and the bathroom were spotless. A bit too close to the train tracks but could sleep fine
What could be improved: Curtains were a bit too light so had to improvise a black out to be able to sleep past 4. Had a minor issue with the door handle, but nothing that affected our stay.

"Comfortable, convenient and value for money"
Very conveniently located right next to Brockley Station which made it really, really easy to reach the centre of London where most of our appointments were taking place. Comfortable room and bed!
What could be improved: Not like is a big statement but the location next to the station also means that the trains pass very close by. Some might be put of by the accompanying noise. With some earplugs this is easily addressed.
