Overview

First Impressions

Spacious Home on Chapel Market sits right in the heart of one of London’s most authentic neighborhoods — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star property isn’t trying to be something it’s not, which I actually found refreshing after staying in so many cookie-cutter places. You’re literally on Chapel Market itself, which means you’ll wake up to the sounds of local life happening right outside your window.

The Space Itself

The name doesn’t lie — this place really is spacious, especially by London standards. The main room flows naturally into a proper living area, and there’s actually enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What caught my attention was the kitchen setup; it’s not just a token kitchenette but something you could genuinely use if you wanted to grab ingredients from the market downstairs and cook a meal.

Chapel Market Magic

Here’s what you need to know about staying right on Chapel Market — it’s brilliant during the day and quiet at night. The market runs Tuesday through Sunday, and you’ll find everything from fresh produce to vintage clothes just steps from your door. I mean, where else can you buy organic vegetables at 9 AM and vintage vinyl records at 2 PM without moving more than fifty meters? The locals here aren’t putting on a show for tourists; this is just how Islington actually works.

Getting Around

Angel station is about a seven-minute walk, which puts you on the Northern line straight into central London. But honestly, you might find yourself walking more than you planned — the canal towpath is right there, and it’s one of those London secrets that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. King’s Cross is maybe twenty minutes on foot if you take the scenic route along the water.

Why Guests Love It

This isn’t the kind of place that’ll wow you with fancy amenities or designer furniture, but it does something better — it drops you into real London life. The apartment feels like staying at a friend’s place (a friend with good taste and enough space to be comfortable). There’s proper parking nearby if you’re driving, though I can’t imagine why you’d want to in this area. The rating sits at 7.3, which feels about right — it’s solidly good without any major surprises, positive or negative. You know what really works here? You can pop downstairs for your morning coffee, grab lunch ingredients from the market stalls, and still be in Covent Garden within thirty minutes if you need your tourist fix.

"Very good"
Large apartment split over 3 floors. Could be challenging with large luggage or with children. Worked for us. Beds were clean but apartment could do with a good clean. Uneven number of plates, cups, cutlery, etc, would be difficult with more than 3 or 4 people. Great location. Staff were very accommodating letting us drop our bags off early as unable to find bag storage.
What could be improved: Apartment needs a good clean. Floors very noisy when you walk around. Bathroom on lowest level. More seating in living area would be useful.

"Overall, this is a nice accommodation and Value for money"
The location was great. It was close to central London and kings cross and the regents canal, British museum. Lots of restaurants ans shops close by.
What could be improved: Bedrooms are somewhat small. Flat could have been cleaned better.

"It's a 50/50."
Positives. Overall good experience - the best aspect was surely the location. Although the market got loud in mornings, the home was close to shops, restaurants, bus and metro. Apartment had a huge TV. The kitchen had mostly everything needed except lids for pans. We had issues with the boiler but it was quickly solved by the owner! We had plenty of towels in diferrent sizes. Negatives. Weird for me was the layout - the apartment was 4 storeys - toilet, living room and kitchen, bedrooms, balcony. One small toilet/shower for 4 people was difficult. The sofa was also too small for 4 people to be comfortable and a bit broken. One of the stove gas rings did not want to turn on, neither did the oven. Window handles were coming off, almost falling down to the street when opened. The floor was super squeaky, especially in bedrooms. And if opened, the radiator was leaking in one of the bedrooms, so the room was cold. At least the bed linen were warm and nice. Also weird not to have tea and sugar in a London apartment. There was only one capsule for the washing machine and no capsules for dishwasher so we couldnt use it.

"Good"
Great location, very roomy, comfy beds Wide variety of shops and cafés very close by. Some thoughtful little touches like shower gel and washing up liquid provided. Good communication regarding check in and out and instructions for finding the apartment.
What could be improved: A cpuple of minor things that could be improved, like there being no microwave and no handle on the outside of the bathroom door.

"Calm amidst the excitement!"
Location and living spaces Great having the laundry on site
What could be improved: Furniture was outdated, particularly the sofa which is uncomfortable. Could have benefitted from a folder with info on how everything works eg heating, rubbish etc

"Good"
The apartment was very easy to find and in an excellent location, minutes walk from Angel tube station. The apartment is very spacious and beds were comfortable. Being so close to the market on a Sunday was lovely.
What could be improved: There were a number of windows that didn't close properly, which lead to some early mornings as the set up for the market can be quite loud.

"Perfect for what we needed. Clean, easy access and close to the Design Centre"
Great location just around the corner from where we were. Super clean property, plenty of storage & space. Comfy bed, nice shower.
What could be improved: The duvet was a little thin for the time of year. I think the windows had been left on the latch which i only found out in the morning after a slightly chilly night with more noise coming in from the street.

"A lovely large flat very well located in an interesting part of London"
The location was great, based as it is on Chapel Market Road. It was a little hard to find the front door at first as it set among the shops but once there, it was lovely. There is a Sainsburys closeby and a lovely-looking shopping centre although I did not go there. The tube is also a short walk away.
What could be improved: It is normal in Australia to provide some milk and sugar as well as tea and coffee so that it is easy to have a cup of tea/coffee when you arrive.
