You’re literally minutes from the action but tucked away on a residential street that actually lets you sleep at night.

The Space Itself

Walking into the room, you immediately get why they called it “spacious” — it’s not just marketing fluff. The living area flows nicely into the dining space, and there’s actually enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living in a shoebox. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which I mean, if you’re staying more than a couple nights, you’ll appreciate having real counter space and a full-sized fridge.

Location Benefits

Here’s what I really love about Carney Place — you’re in Zone 2 but it doesn’t feel suburban at all. Stockwell tube station is about a seven-minute walk, and from there you’re fifteen minutes to central London on the Northern line. The neighborhood has this mix of young professionals and families, so there’s decent coffee shops and corner stores, but it’s not overrun with tourists taking selfies every five meters.

Practical Considerations

The two bedrooms work well if you’re traveling with friends or family — one’s got a proper double bed, the other has twin beds that don’t look like they were assembled yesterday. Street parking is typical London residential permit stuff, so if you’re driving, factor that in. The wifi actually works properly (tested it on video calls), and there’s decent natural light throughout the day, which honestly makes a bigger difference than you’d think when you’re staying somewhere for a week.

Gorgeous flat, very clean. Lovely building. Nice touch with the small things such as cereal and biscuits left for our stay. Leaflet provided with all information required.
What could be improved: No complaints. Would definitely go back in future.

"Excellent (secure) location that is clean, spacious and with 2 bathrooms very handy. We liked it!"
Location is excellent (walking distance to Brixton village/market, bus, tube, shopping, restaurants) and very secure - that was great. Two bedrooms and two separate bathrooms, one was ensuite with shower, the other included shower and bath-tub. Good windows that blocked out any noise from the train-line which was just outside the windows. Liked the large balcony with patio doors. Rather well equipped with dishes/etc for 4 people. The place was clean, spacious and nice furnishings, with some artful flare. Very comfortable and welcoming space. The host was good at communication when we had some questions. We would return to this flat next time we go to Brixton.
What could be improved: There were some minor issues with the bathrooms - in the ensuite the sink basin drained very very slowly. Neither of the bathroom extractors seemed to work. The heated towel rail in the main bathroom did not work. Because the place is right next to the train line you couldn't really open your bedroom windows because of the noise of the trains passing - but with the windows closed it was pretty quiet (so that was good). The breakfast was minimal - some boxes of cornflakes; a bottle of whole milk in the fridge; a package of croissants. Some Tassimo coffee but only decaff and some mocha (neither of which suited us for coffee choices); some tea bags, some instant coffee sachets, some semi-skimmed milk sachets. Breakfast was underwhelming.

"Large modern new apartment right next to Brixton Village, great for a family or friends."
The apartment is beautiful and very spacious. Two bathrooms was a highlight and there are plenty of big windows to watch the trains go by.
What could be improved: The apartment itself is a little tricky to find as it is through another apartment building. We needed to do washing in the apartment but the services werent functioning and locked off.

As someone who grew up in London and now lives abroad this was a perfect central location all the immunities plenty of bars and restaurants to go to and the culture of Brixton The apartments is warm and cozy bedrooms more than adequate both bathrooms well kicked it out Very safe secure location
What could be improved: The picking up of the keys that was the down part of the experience we came along to a shop to pick them up wasn't it sure of where the location was and they became very abrasive rude We tried to contact the Host how wasn't able to get back to us during this period. we ask the shop if they could contact the Host they said they didn't know who was the host then it started to feel like a scam, one of the people in the shop did try to be helpful and eventually we worked out where the location was a similar experience happened when we returned the keys I asked the person in the shop for their name so I could have some kind of reference and they refused and the whole atmosphere became rather hostile. one of my attributes is social skills and getting on with people these guys were very abrasive The other down part about the property was the microwave didn't work One recommendation that may be moving the checkout time to around 12 noon would be more convenient for visitors it would appear that only the Host seem to benefit from the current arrangement

"Perfect location but guest needs a prep note"
Spacious is right. There was enough room and more. And it is a few minutes away from the main streets of Brixton with the Brixton Village cluster of shops next to it. Perfect.
What could be improved: The access with all security measures were complex and should be said upfront. Especially the fact that the guest needs to collect the key from a nearby shop. Dragging the luggage all over was an issue. There was no one to ask about things - coffee machine descaling or locking the apartment etc. a wee bit impersonal.

Very spacious apartment close to nearby shops and restaurants. Convenient access to the tube and busses.
What could be improved: Railway is very close to the sleeping room, air conditioning would be a benefit since opening a window a night is unfortunately not an option. English breakfast could be more that just cereals.
