Overview
First Impressions
Sleek Shoreditch Hideout – 2 Bed Gem with Balcony in Central London sits right in the heart of Hackney, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better for exploring East London‘s creative scene. This four-star property feels more like a stylish friend’s flat than a typical hotel — which is exactly what makes it work so well. The building itself has that industrial-meets-modern vibe that Shoreditch does so perfectly.
The Space
Walking into this two-bedroom apartment, you immediately notice how much thought went into the design. The open-plan living area flows naturally, and that balcony — well, it’s small but perfect for morning coffee while watching the neighborhood wake up. Each room has enough space to actually unpack your stuff, which you know is rare in London. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped too; I mean, you could actually cook a proper meal if you wanted to skip the incredible food scene outside your door.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Hackney — you’re genuinely living like a local, not just visiting. The area around Rover House buzzes with that authentic East London energy, from the vintage shops on Brick Lane to the weekend markets that locals actually shop at. You can walk to Old Street in about fifteen minutes, or catch the overground to central London pretty easily. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of gritty and polished that makes Shoreditch so addictive.
Why It Works
What sets this place apart is how it balances comfort with character. The modern amenities don’t feel sterile, and the space genuinely feels like somewhere you’d want to hang out rather than just crash. The building’s secure entry gives you peace of mind, while the apartment’s layout means you can spread out properly — rare for London accommodations. Plus, having that outdoor space, even if it’s compact, makes such a difference when you’re staying for more than a night or two.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t your typical London hotel experience, and that’s precisely the point. You get the independence of having your own space with the reliability of professional management. The rating speaks for itself — guests consistently mention how the location puts them right in the action without the touristy crowds. It’s the kind of place where you actually feel connected to the city rather than just passing through it.
Guest reviews
"It was nice and we had what we needed, both in the unit and in the neighborhood."
The flat was very cute and very cozy. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for my entire family to sleep. The kitchen was mostly good. There was a great little market very close to the flat.
What could be improved: The property was a little farther away (time-wise) from our tourist spots than we thought when we booked it. The kitchen had a weird coffee maker for which we could not find the right kind of coffee pods.

"Optimal value for money"
The location of the accommodation was good, bus nearby, and the size of the accommodation itself was perfect for 4 people especially. The host's communication was problem free, helpful. Towels were provided. The kitchen was well equipped, washing machine, dishwasher.
What could be improved: Cleanliness, or lack of it, is a big problem. We had to clean the bathroom. The heating in one room was not working, so it was quite cold. Alex was very helpful as the previous tenant had not reported this problem to him.

Great location, big apartment for 4 people. Alex was super helpful before and during our stay!

"Good"
Great location and contact with host
What could be improved: Initially we got dirty pillow cases and there was some laundry left in the washing machine, but it was promptly sorted by the host (new pillow cases came in 1hr or so)

"Good spot in Shoreditch for a group"
Location was convenient to the Tube, having washing machine, and full kitchen. Area was quiet.
What could be improved: Freezer had a foul smell. Shower had intermittent hot water. Property manager took awhile to respond as the property card was missing.

"Good location but needs some maintenance"
Great location, good place to stay for a city trip with a group. Rooms are fairly spacious and the self check in was very easy. Price value was also good considering other prices in London and the timing just before Christmas.
What could be improved: The apartment needs some maintenance and a deep clean. There was mold in the shower, a lot of dust on the pipes and some dirty dishes still sitting on the balcony. There is plaster coming off the walls in some rooms and some lightbulbs were only partially working or not at all. The water pressure in the shower was very low and the hot and cold water does not mix well. With a few adjustments, this could be a very nice place to stay, but it needs some work.

"With some maintenance this could be an excellent place to stay for a long weekend."
Location good for bus link. Quiet location.
Easy instructions for entry into the property.
What could be improved: The property could do with some maintenance. Plaster coming off the wall in the main bedroom. The bath had black mould around the edges and in the corner where the shower screen is. No instruction manual in the property. Could do with a spring clean in all areas.
