Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Prospect House on Gaywood Street, you’d honestly never guess you’re about to step into one of London’s most refined boutique experiences. The building has this understated elegance — it’s not screaming luxury at you, but there’s something unmistakably sophisticated about the way it sits quietly in Southwark. This five-star property feels more like discovering a well-kept secret than checking into a typical hotel.
The Southwark Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally a stone’s throw from Borough Market, and I mean you can smell the fresh bread and coffee in the morning. London Bridge is right there, so getting across the Thames takes maybe ten minutes on foot. But honestly, the best part is how this area feels authentically local rather than touristy. You’ve got proper pubs where locals actually drink, not just the ones packed with visitors taking photos of their fish and chips.
Living Spaces That Actually Work
The apartment-style accommodations here really set Prospect House apart from your standard hotel room. Each unit has a proper kitchen — and I’m talking full-sized appliances, not some sad mini-fridge situation. The space feels genuinely livable, like you could actually settle in for a week or more without going stir-crazy. The design is this perfect blend of contemporary luxury and warmth that somehow doesn’t feel sterile or overly designed.
Amenities and Atmosphere
What strikes me most is how they’ve managed to create this sense of exclusivity without being pretentious about it. There’s no massive lobby scene or overly formal staff hovering around — it feels more like staying at an exceptionally well-appointed private residence. The parking situation is actually sorted, which anyone who’s tried to navigate central London with a car will appreciate. They’ve thought through all those little details that business travelers and longer-stay guests actually care about.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s the kind of place where everything just works — the Wi-Fi is reliable, the beds are genuinely comfortable, and the neighborhood gives you that authentic London experience without sacrificing luxury or convenience. You’re not paying for flashy amenities you’ll never use; instead, you’re getting thoughtfully designed spaces that enhance however you actually want to spend your time in the city. Whether you’re here for business or exploring London’s South Bank cultural scene, Prospect House feels like it was designed for people who know what they want from a luxury stay.
London hotels keep travelers close to Tower Bridge views, iconic shopping streets, and tube lines to world-class museums.

"Felt like home way from home."
The stay was very comfortable, All the basic needs were taken care of. Very clean place. The location was well accessible from bus stop and metro station, walkable distance.
View was great - you could see multiple attractions from the windows
Lastly, host was a great person. Was flexible with early check in and late check out. Provided us with all the details (supermarket, restaurants etc) for a comfortable stay.
Would definitely recommend !!
What could be improved: We were travelling with elderly. The ground floor room did not have shower facility. That was the only inconvenience

"Great value for money in an excellent location."
The apartment was really lovely, and very easy to find. The communication from the host was excellent. My kids loved the little playground outside the block of flats and we enjoyed watching the squirrels playing in the trees. The location is excellent, a very easy walk to the tube station and close to everything.
What could be improved: We were a group of eight, and I'd probably recommend this for a group of six, just to give more space for hanging out, but we did know this when we booked, and its great to have a place that offers space for eight at such a good price.
The outside/location was a little confronting when we first arrived as the apartment is in a block of flats that looks a bit rough, but as a family with young kids we felt perfectly safe the whole time and would not hesitate to recommend it.

"We are thankful for a lovely visit to London with a spacious and cozy spot to unwind and relax!"
This apartment is on the top floor with a very secure lobby and also rooms and balconies with beautiful views and perfect for retiring after long busy days in the bustle of the London city. The apartment was clean, well taken care of (10/10) with new or excellent grade furnishings and fun and tasteful art.
What could be improved: Nothing really! We have no complaints!

"The great location of this cramped two story flat has excellent views."
Marco was great helping us to customize the lower bedroom for two adults upon check-in. Let him know before you check in on any particular arrangements you need and he is very helpful. Fantastic views from the room! Close to public transportation and within walking distance to the Thames River!
What could be improved: Like most flats in London the rooms were very cramped for extra space. There are stairs to the upper two bedrooms and only shower.
