PenthouseStays Notting Hill – Chic 2 Bedroom Apartment w/ King Beds – near Portobello Road & Kensington High Street sits on a quiet stretch of Linden Gardens, and honestly, the location immediately caught my attention. You’re in one of those classic white-stucco London terraces that feels properly residential — not touristy at all. The apartment itself has that modern edge you’d expect from a three-star property, with clean lines and contemporary furnishings that work well against the period building’s character.
The Space That Works
What struck me most was how they’ve actually made the space feel bigger than it probably is. Both bedrooms come with king beds (which is rarer than you’d think in London apartments), and the main living area flows nicely into a compact kitchen that’s got everything you need. I mean, there’s a proper dishwasher, decent-sized fridge, and enough counter space to actually cook if you’re staying for more than a couple nights — something that matters when you’re dealing with London restaurant prices.
Location Perks
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? Portobello Road is literally a five-minute walk away, but you’re far enough from the weekend chaos to actually get some sleep. Kensington High Street runs the other direction, so you’ve got that covered for proper shopping and the tube connections. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel — you’ll see locals walking their dogs and grabbing coffee at the corner spots, which always makes a place feel more authentic.
Practical Details
The building doesn’t have a lift, just so you know, but it’s only a few flights up and worth it for the quieter street-facing windows. There’s no dedicated parking, but that’s pretty standard around here — the tube connections are solid anyway, with Bayswater and Queensway both within walking distance. Wi-fi worked perfectly throughout my stay, and the heating actually functions properly (not always a given in these old London buildings, honestly).
Why Guests Love It
This place hits that sweet spot between hotel convenience and apartment privacy. You get your own front door key, nobody’s bothering you about checkout times, but the space is professionally maintained and cleaned. The 8.1 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and well-located. What could be improved: The en-suite shower didn’t drain properly and flooded the bathroom floor. The oven didn’t work on fan only fan & grill option combined

"On the whole, had a lovely stay and would recommend apartment."
Location was perfect. Beautiful area to walk around, nice restaurants, very close to supermarkets and Notting Gate Tube for easy access to central London and all the main attractions, galleries, museums, theatres. Apartment was lovely, had all the conveniences - perfect for a family of 5.
What could be improved: Shower temperature difficult to manage - only staying hot briefly and at times cold. We were aware when booking that there are a lot of stairs to the apartment and also within apartment - quite narrow in places. We could manage them but would be an issue for some.

"Loved the stay"
Great size two bedroom, two bathroom all amenities modern stylish, we didn’t cook or eat but if you do want to everything is provided and the staff very helpful
What could be improved: Probably for my mother the stairs and if you have a lot of heavy luggage hopefully you are strong to get it all the way to the top.

"Mount Linden"
Location to the tube was fantastic! It was also an easy walk to/across Kensington Gardens to the museum district.
Lots of great eateries nearby.
Quiet due to being off the main street.
Felt very safe in the neighborhood.
The place was clean with updated amenities.
What could be improved: The spiral death staircase leading into the penthouse.
Next time I'll be weary when booking a Penthouse flat.

"Excellent location and comfortable stay"
The apartment was excellent, clean, comfortable, had all what we need to stay. All the appliances were functional as it supposed. Location was excellent and near by there was underground station, restaurants, Hyde park was minutes away.
The facility communication regarding the process of check in and out, and information provided as needed, made it easier for us to settle in. In addition to continue checking out if any help needed, was great. Thank you
What could be improved: The apartment was on the fifth floor and the satires were kind of hard for the people not used to or unable to use satires, especially with luggage such as elderly or with health problems, it would be kind of the facility to mention that.
The luggage storage location which was kindly shared by the facility was moved sometime ago, and we spent time looking for it (about more than an hour) till someone told us that it was moved, luckily later we found another storage location nearby.

What could be improved: Climbing to our unit at L3 was a challenge with big luggage’s and very narrow stairs towards the end.

"Perfect location, very spacious 2 bedroom apartment, would stay there again."
The location was perfect, so close to the train and the shops. Enjoyed the space in the apartment, very spacious throughout the apartment.
What could be improved: Not enough bath towels. Would prefer air conditioning for those extremely hot days.
