Overview
First Impressions
One Hundred Shoreditch sits right where the chaos of London’s creative heart meets a surprisingly sleek hotel experience. Walking up to this four-star spot on Shoreditch High Street, you’ll immediately notice how it manages to feel both industrial-cool and welcoming — no small feat in an area that can sometimes try too hard to be edgy.
Location & Getting Around
Honestly, the location is what sold me on this place. You’re literally steps from some of the best street art in London, and Shoreditch High Street station is right there when you need to escape to other parts of the city. What I really appreciate is how you can grab amazing Vietnamese food at Viet Grill just around the corner, then stumble into a speakeasy-style bar without walking more than five minutes. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you’ll accidentally discover your new favorite coffee shop just by getting lost.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of exposed brick and modern comfort that actually works — unlike some places that just throw industrial elements together and hope for the best. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in tons of natural light, which you don’t always get in London hotels. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and I mean that — sometimes you don’t realize how much a good night’s sleep matters until you’re walking around a massive city all day.
Food & Drink
The restaurant downstairs serves this modern British menu that doesn’t feel stuffy or pretentious. I had their Sunday roast, and well, it was the kind of meal that makes you understand why British people defend this tradition so fiercely. The bar stays busy with both hotel guests and locals, which tells you something about the quality — Shoreditch locals have plenty of options, so they wouldn’t hang around if it wasn’t worth it.
Why Guests Love It
You know what makes One Hundred Shoreditch work? It gets that modern travelers want to feel like they’re experiencing the real neighborhood, not just staying in a hotel that happens to be there. The staff actually knows the area — when I asked about late-night food options, the concierge didn’t just hand me a generic list but told me exactly which places would still be serving food after 10 PM. Plus, there’s parking available if you’re driving, which is practically a miracle in this part of London. It’s the kind of place where you can base yourself for a proper London experience without feeling like you’re roughing it.

"Great hotel"
The hotel is great, rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and clean, there is a well-stocked minibar (rare for 4-star hotels in the UK), the still and sparkling two-temperature water fountains on each floor are a really nice touch. Located in a gentrified hipster neighbourhood just outside the City, which gives together with the hotel concept and decor a general hipster casual upscale vibe. You will find many great restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars within the immediate vicinity, and even more 15-20 minutes walking away. Spitalfields market is 15-20 minutes away on foot and well worth the visit. In front of the hotel is a bus stop (or rather bus terminal). Convenient connection to Heathrow via the Elizabeth Line and the Overground. We appreciated Shoreditch as it's an authentic area of London, not touristy and crammed with tourist crowds like Westminster or Leicester Square. Especially recommended if you've been to London before and seen all the "main" touristy sights and want to experience something different.
What could be improved: There was no toilet brush provided in the bathroom. A minor drawback is the fact that the nearest tube stations are 15-20 mins walking away (Old Street and Liverpool Street). The closest rapid transit stop (8 minutes walk) is an Overground station (Shoreditch High Street) and you need to travel 1 stop to Whitechapel to connect to the tube and the Elizabeth line. Another minor drawback is that due to the hipster nature of the neighbourhood, besides a Tesco Express and a Sainsbury's Local, there are no "normal" stores in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (like a Boot's pharmacy) so for such necessities you need to go a bit further afield.

"Nothing to complain about. Great location."
Casual modern. The bar downstairs is special. To try!
What could be improved: The refurbishment feels a bit ‘contreplaqué’ at places.

"Superb"
- Amazing stylish hotel in the center of lovely Shoreditch
- Very nice staff
What could be improved: At the checkout we were asked to leave a service charge of more than 60 gbp for 5 nights
It is not mandatory but obviously it’s hard to refuse once you are asked. The staff was very nice so we agreed, but I’ve never encountered this request in any hotel before and personally I’d rather just pay more in advance as part of the booking fee rather than be surprised at check out.

"Superb"
The modern decor, facilities e.g. bag drop off, coffee shop.
What could be improved: The room was too hot on the first night - uncomfortable to sleep. It was rectified for the second night when we reported it to reception.
