Overview
First Impressions
Notting Hill Guest Studio sits on Uxbridge Road in a classic London building that you might walk past without noticing — and that’s actually part of its charm. I’ll be honest, when I first arrived, I was expecting something a bit more polished given the Notting Hill name, but this three-star spot has a refreshingly straightforward approach. The flat occupies the top floor, which means you’ll be climbing some stairs, but the trade-off is worth it once you see the space.
The Studio Space
This isn’t your typical hotel room — it’s more like borrowing a friend’s well-kept studio flat. The space feels surprisingly roomy for central London standards, with high ceilings that give it an airy feel. What I really appreciated was the functional kitchen setup; you’ve got everything you need to make proper meals rather than surviving on takeaway for your entire stay. The whole place has that lived-in comfort that makes you feel settled rather than just passing through.
Location Reality Check
Here’s the thing about the location — while it carries the Notting Hill name, you’re technically in Ealing, which means you’re not stepping out your door into the heart of tourist central. But honestly? That worked in my favor. The area feels more like real London, with proper local pubs and shops that aren’t trying to separate tourists from their money. The tube connections are solid, and you can reach the famous bits of Notting Hill in about 15 minutes when you want that Instagram-worthy experience.
Practical Considerations
The building doesn’t have fancy amenities — no concierge, no restaurant, no spa treatments. What it does have is reliable WiFi, decent water pressure, and neighbors who aren’t partying until 3 AM. Street parking is typical London chaos, so if you’re driving, factor in some hunting time or look into local parking apps. The flat gets good natural light during the day, though the street-facing windows do pick up some traffic noise — nothing a pair of earplugs can’t handle if you’re a light sleeper.
Why Guests Love It
You know what makes this place work? It doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The host clearly knows their audience — people who want a clean, functional base in London without paying hotel prices for tiny rooms. I’ve stayed in plenty of London accommodations where you’re paying premium rates to feel cramped, but this studio gives you space to actually unpack and settle in. It’s the kind of place where you can cook breakfast, plan your day over proper coffee, and return in the evening feeling like you’re coming home rather than checking into a sterile room.

"Very good"
It was a great location. Near to the shopping centre and close to shepherds bush empire. The apartment had everything you could need. It was clean and very comfortable. Great communication as we booked very last minute.
What could be improved: It's was on the 3rd floor so a few stairs to climb. Road can be noisy but it's London. No parking but we left our car in the shopping centre £20 for 24hour not to bad.

"I enjoyed how accessible the studio was and how responsive the staff were"
The location was excellent, it was close to the mall and supermarkets, and I could walk to work. All around 10/10 location
What could be improved: The room size was a bit small.

"Good location, good price, great host. Tweaks needed"
The host was very good, good communication and very helpful.
We had all the details we needed in good time and was always offered the opportunity of help. The amenities were great and we had everything we needed and more inside the apartment. Would be very happy to stay again.
What could be improved: The drainage in the shower was very slow and you were stood in water within minutes of being in there, however I feel this could be an easy fix.
The main issue we had was the beds for our daughter, the apartment was booked for 3, and there was bunk beds as well as a double, that’s great but the bunk beds didn’t have full size or even real mattresses, so we ended up moving both foam sheets and both duvets to one bed in order to make it more comfortable. Had we had the final guest, their stay would have been very uncomfortable. 🥴 again easy fix but definitely worth mentioning.

"Good"
Studio well equipped. Great location. Easy access to underground and other means of public transport. Conveniently located close to shops, restaurants and Westfield Shopping Complex. Responsive host. Host kindly allowed us to leave the luggage at the property outside check-in/checkout time.
What could be improved: Sofa bed not suitable for an adult, it's too hard. We booked the property for 8 nights and it was a nightmare for an adult to sleep on this sofa bed. Wobbly dining table and chairs with loose parts, safety hazard, need fixing. Since the property is on the third floor with no lift it is difficult to carry the luggage up the narrow winding stairs.

"Superb location in Central London"
Everything is included, the long walk upstairs is worth it. But be mindful before booking
What could be improved: Nothing really

"Cozy central spot perfect for a long weekend stay"
Really comfortable space and super close to tube stations (Shepherd’s Bush market and Shepherd’s Bush both barely a 5 minute walk). Easy to get everywhere in London, plus a cozy central place to return to at the end of the day
What could be improved: Outlets were few and far between which made charging devices a bit inconvenient, but this was a minor detail. Overall we loved our stay!
