Overview

First Impressions

NoMad London sits right on Bow Street in Covent Garden, and honestly, the location alone is worth talking about. This five-star hotel occupies a beautifully restored Victorian courthouse — I mean, you’re literally sleeping where judges once held court. The transformation is remarkable, though you’d never guess the building’s serious past from the warm, theatrical atmosphere they’ve created inside.

The Heart of Covent Garden

You know what’s great about staying here? You’re steps away from the Royal Opera House and surrounded by London’s best theater district energy. The cobblestone streets around Bow Street buzz with street performers during the day, and there’s something magical about walking back to the hotel after a show — the whole area feels like a stage set. Plus, you can actually walk to most of Central London’s major attractions without dealing with the Tube if you’re feeling ambitious.

Luxurious Spaces That Tell Stories

Each room feels carefully curated rather than just decorated — there’s this perfect balance between luxury and warmth that NoMad does so well. The interiors blend rich fabrics, custom furnishings, and original architectural details from the courthouse era. I particularly loved the oversized windows in my room, which let in streams of London light and offered glimpses of the bustling street life below.

Dining Excellence

The restaurant here deserves its own mention — it’s become something of a destination for Londoners, not just hotel guests. The menu changes seasonally, but the quality remains consistently impressive. What struck me most was how they’ve managed to create this grand, almost theatrical dining space within the former courthouse’s main hall. The cocktails are expertly crafted too, and the bar area has this sophisticated speakeasy vibe that works perfectly for both business meetings and romantic evenings.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something special about staying at NoMad London that goes beyond the obvious luxury touches. Maybe it’s how the staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, or how the building’s history adds weight to every corner. The attention to detail is remarkable — from the custom bath products to the way they handle special requests. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re part of London’s cultural fabric rather than just observing it from the outside.

"Gorgeous, funky yet classy hotel in superb position"
Brilliant location for the West End. Hotel beautiful with all staff very helpful and professional. Gorgeous room - comfy bed, stunning bathroom and lovely period touches. Loved the little touches eg champagne for birthday celebration, bookmark for my novel and fresh milk in the fridge! Overall, classy, elegant and funky vibe (ask to see the cells!) perfect for all travellers looking for a little bit extra. Boutique but homely - will definitely be back.
What could be improved: TV a bit difficult to navigate - but minor gripe

"Elegant warm luxury."
My mother is 90 and I had mentioned that her circulation was not the best. Her room was extra warm on arrival and two hot water bottles were laid out on the bed. She was upgraded to a stunning room. The free afternoon tea on arrival (2 slices of Victoria sponge, 4 lemon macarons, 2 chocolate chip cookies per room) was superb and just what was needed after a long train journey. Also appreciated was the lack of a cloying overwhelming fragrance everywhere which so many hotels mistakenly seem to think is pleasant.
What could be improved: Slightly clutching at straws here since we had such a wonderful time. The passageways were a little dark and the signage to the rooms not the best (though the desire to be subtle was appreciated). Too much weird art in the rooms for my taste, but the next person might have thought it amazing. The mound of undressed lollo rosso with my (delicious) eggs benedict was superflous - put the eggs on a smaller plate and ditch the pointless garnish! And perhaps a more traditional breakfast might be available (or if it was available, mentioned somewhere) - cereal, toast, boiled eggs, not everyone wants truffles in the morning.

"Overall, we enjoyed the hotel and the staff and would recommend. Just be mindful if your stay is short that it’s possibl"
Well appointed rooms and facilities. Staff helpful and friendly, especially the doormen. The location was also good 👍🏼
What could be improved: When choosing a hotel, you generally choose one that has restaurants, lounges etc available to use at your discretion. With an event on for a full day, we lost some of the options that we chose the hotel for over a 24 hour period. It’s not the end of the world but when you are in the city for such a short time, it’s disappointing. Also we didn’t appreciate ‘discretionary’ charges being automatically added to our bill. We would have preferred being asked verbally if that was something we wanted to do.
