Overview
First Impressions
Walking into nhow London, you immediately know this isn’t your typical hotel. The lobby feels more like a design studio — all bold colors, quirky art installations, and furniture that looks like it belongs in a contemporary art museum. It’s one of those places where you find yourself taking photos before you even check in, which honestly says something about how committed they are to the whole design-forward concept.
The Islington Experience
The location in Islington is actually brilliant if you want to experience London like a local rather than a tourist. You’re walking distance from Angel station, which puts you anywhere in central London in minutes, but the neighborhood itself has this village-y feel that’s hard to find in Zone 1. There are proper pubs around the corner, independent coffee shops, and Camden Passage antique market is right there — perfect for weekend browsing.
The Room
The room I stayed in was compact but incredibly well-designed, which seems to be nhow’s thing. Every inch serves a purpose, and the tech integration is seamless without being overwhelming. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. What I loved most was the floor-to-ceiling window — you get these unexpected views of London rooftops that remind you you’re staying somewhere special.
Dining and Social Spaces
The ground floor restaurant and bar area buzzes with energy, especially in the evenings when it fills up with a mix of hotel guests and locals who clearly know about this place. The food is modern European with interesting twists — not groundbreaking, but solid and well-executed. I mean, the cocktails are where they really shine though. The bartenders know their stuff, and the drink menu changes seasonally, which shows they’re paying attention to details.
Why Guests Love It
This four-star hotel delivers something that’s becoming rare in London — personality without pretension. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy working there, which translates into service that feels personal rather than scripted. You’re not getting the white-glove treatment of a grand hotel, but you are getting authentic hospitality from people who know their neighborhood and can point you toward the good stuff. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for business or pleasure, but either way, you’ll probably end up extending your stay.

"Clean, good location and great value"
Good location, clean and modern
What could be improved: Would have expected a modern hotel to have had a tv with apps like Netflix ect, wasn’t a huge issue but felt like it was missing

"Exceptional"
Good vibe, pleasant staff, fun interiors.
Came back one evening to find a pungent smell of cleaning products in the room. Notified reception who moved me to a different room immediately.
What could be improved: Decor is opinionated and might not be for everyone.

"Great place to stay"
The staff welcomed me as soon as I walked through the doors. It immediately made me feel comfortable. I knew from then that it would be a good stay. I stayed in the suite which was very spacious.
What could be improved: Would have liked a better bartender as the drinks were not great.

"One of the best places I've stayed"
This Hotel is very aesthetically pleasing. Why stay in a boring looking place when you can have funky chairs, giant bears, quotes on the walls and beautiful lights.
But it actually lives up to everything you'd want in a hotel too.
Rooms are clean, smell good and have everything you need. Staff are friendly and helpful. It might not be central to everything but it's London you can get a bus, Uber, walk or train it anywhere and that would make me stay here again even if I had to travel slightly more to have a great hotel stay.
We ordered cocktails before going out, what was good here was we was also asked how we'd prefer our drinks. Now I like an espresso martini, i can't remember the last time I got asked if Id like it bitter or sweeter. It's things like that that make a difference.
I saw guests ask for things for their room, bowls etc and they were helped straight away. I called reception and asked for oat milk, no problem it was delivered to my room. I stayed at a well known hotel the night before and asked for the same thing....yep that will be £6! Here no problem, no issues.
The room had robes and slippers, an actual coffee pod machine. I'm a coffee girl so that was a bonus. An ice bucket, cocktail shaker and nice glasses. The usual water in cartons not plastic, toiletries etc but the nice little touch was a lip balm. It's now cold out and walking around London that's a good little thing you might of forgotten or never thought you'd need.
There was also a hand held mirror available. Nice extra, especially for those who need the right place to get ready or do their hair etc.
In the reception there is water, biscuits and sweets 😁. You can rent umbrellas, I feel like a lot of thought was made in actually thinking about what guests would like.

What could be improved: Nothing really! Bit further out of centre - but near enough to walk to tube - loved this hotel.
