Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to My London Holiday Home, honestly, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a five-star property tucked away in Woolwich. But you know what? This luxury hideaway completely changed my perspective on where exceptional hospitality can flourish in London. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention — it just quietly delivers on every promise.
Location & Neighborhood
Arsenal Way might not be the first address that comes to mind when you think luxury London stays, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re genuinely away from the tourist chaos, yet the transport links are surprisingly solid — the DLR gets you into central London without the usual Tube madness. I mean, sometimes you want to experience London like locals do, not just bounce between overpriced hotels in Zone 1.
The Room Experience
The room itself feels more like stepping into a friend’s incredibly well-appointed flat than a typical hotel space. There’s a proper kitchen setup that actually works — I’m talking full-sized appliances, not those toy versions you usually get. The attention to detail is what gets me though; quality linens, thoughtful lighting, and enough space to properly unpack and settle in for a few days.
Amenities & Service
What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to create that boutique luxury feel without the stuffiness. The spa facilities are intimate but beautifully maintained, and parking is actually included — which, if you’ve tried to park anywhere in London lately, you’ll know is worth its weight in gold. The staff genuinely seem to care about your stay rather than just going through the motions.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t your typical London luxury hotel experience, and that’s precisely why it works so well. You get all the high-end touches and service you’d expect from a five-star property, but with this refreshing residential feel that makes longer stays actually pleasant. The restaurant recommendations they provide are spot-on too — clearly from people who actually know the area rather than just printing off generic tourist suggestions.

"Exceptional"
Proximity to the tube station. We were headed to The Excel and it was really easy, even in a tube strike!
What could be improved: The pillows on the bed were too flat for us, we like more support.

"Exceptional accommodation and friendly host. Everything provided. You will enjoy your stay."
Loved the clean, bright, modern feel of the apartment and that it was well-equipped with EVERYthing, dishwasher (and dishwasher tablets) washing-machine & washing powder, even down to kitchen foil and bin bags. It was a really beautiful apartment, I loved that it had two full shower/toilet rooms. The main room was so bright and cheerful, clean and smart. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Everything was sparkling clean. Lovely towels and bedding provided.
The Host was delightful to deal with, friendly and helpful.
Location was super for us, 5 mins walk to the riverside and the attractive, pedestrianised Arsenal area with the cannons, and 5 minutes also from a Tesco, an M&S food, the Elizabeth Line, and a super bar/pub (Dial Arch)
What could be improved: It's hard to think of anything. Woolwich centre (south of the riverside and the main road) is not a particularly nice place (but you never need to go there. The Arsenal area is beautiful.)
Also, the booking.com website is a challenge to use. Finding your inbox is difficult (it is inaccessible at times!) But we managed - keep checking your messages so as not to miss vital check-in instructions. This is not the fault of the host, obviously.

"Exceptional"
The apartment was as advertised: convenient, practical, and certainly met our needs and expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, and would book it again.
What could be improved: Not much at all.

"Our Weekend Away"
Location was perfect for my grandson who was going to O2 and it was easy for us getting back and fore from Heathrow and also into the city.
What could be improved: The bedrooms were very hot, but it was very hot outside anyway. The TV was very low so hard to watch, and there was no hairdryer.
