Overview
First Impressions
Museum Stay – Central London sits on Museum Street like it’s been there forever — which, honestly, it sort of has. The Georgian townhouse facade blends seamlessly with the neighborhood’s academic vibe, and you’ll walk past it twice before realizing you’ve found your hotel. It’s that understated kind of place that doesn’t scream for attention, but once you’re inside, you get why it has such solid reviews.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally around the corner from the British Museum, but more importantly, you’re in Bloomsbury proper. Russell Square is a three-minute walk when you need some green space, and the Charlotte Street restaurant scene is close enough for dinner without needing the Tube. The three-star rating might not sound fancy, but the location does half the work for you. Plus, there’s a Sainsbury’s Local practically next door, which travelers always forget they’ll need until they do.
The Room Reality
My room was compact — let’s be honest about London hotel sizes — but thoughtfully laid out. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given at this price point), and they’d managed to squeeze in a decent-sized desk by the window. The bathroom was one of those efficient European setups where everything has its place, and the shower pressure was surprisingly good. You know what impressed me most? The blackout curtains actually worked, which is rare for a busy street location.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in a small ground-floor space that feels more like a neighborhood café than a hotel dining area — and I mean that in the best way. It’s continental style with some hot options, nothing revolutionary, but the coffee was decent and the staff seemed to remember how you liked it after the second day. The whole operation runs smoothly without being overly formal, which fits the hotel’s personality perfectly.
Why Guests Love It
Museum Stay works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re paying for a clean, comfortable base in one of London‘s best neighborhoods, not for marble lobbies or fancy amenities. The front desk staff actually know the area — they’ll send you to the good pub around the corner or tell you which entrance to use for the Museum to skip the main crowds. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in the neighborhood rather than just visiting it, which is exactly what you want from a hotel in Bloomsbury.

"great place for theatre holiday"
Location next to British Museum, and walking distance to Westend theatres. Two Sainsburys and Tesco nearby. Quiet neighbourhood in the night, so slept very well in the comfy bed. High quality linen and towels. Kitchen well-equipped for two residents. We had an issue with the shower, but that was fixed by the host in no time. No aircon, but the oscillating fan worked very well in hot days.
What could be improved: Although we travel together, we prefer sleeping in separate beds. Extra sheets would have cost 50 GBP extra, so we ended up buying a cheap set of linen for the sofa ourselves. As others have pointed earlier, kitchen could have wooden utensils, as the frying pan is already scratched to shreds with metallic ones. Also, kitchen roll would be handy. Small window wiper would be helpful after taking a shower.

"Superb"
This apartment is literally across the street from the entrance to teh Brittish museum, on a fun street, with breakfast places, pubs, fish and chips shop, and other restaurants. Two flights of stairs to get to the apartment, it was clean, with a bed in the living room/ kitchen area and a seperate bedroom with another bed. Both beds were comfy, everything was very clean.

"Superb"
The experiences in this apartment was awesome! The location is perfect, and the room is clean and well-maintained. There are various restaurants, cafes and grocery store nearby. Walkable distance to convent garden, theater district and Trafalgar square etc.
What could be improved: One area for improvement is the bathroom. The floor becomes slippery after a shower. So it would be advisable to bring rubber sleepers with you.

"Great Apartment in a Great Location!"
There was no breakfast (wasn't necessary as there are little breakfast sandwich shops everywhere) BUT the apartment is clean, modern, plenty of hot water in shower, bed was comfortable, linen and towels were clean/good quality (often don't see that), wifi was fast, very little street noise, and USB connections in lamp next to bed was a nice touch as well. Is located right-next-to-the British National Museum and central to many other sites-to-see. There were also many local restaurants - pubs - shopping - all within easy walking distance. We'll be back...
What could be improved: I do construction and the waterproofed bathroom was something I'd never seen before ... understand that was necessary as the bathroom includes the shower (forcing the installation of a shower right next to the toilet). The floor drain was installed a little high (water tends to gather on the bathroom floor) and a hanging shower curtain (even if it extended down to knee level that isolated the shower from the toilet) would be great (not a lot of room to do this ... but better than having to wipe down the toilet every time one uses the shower.

"Great London apartment"
Nice one-bedroom apartment, perfect for our party of 2. Very close to the British Museum and a short walk to multiple public transport options. Restaurants close by, but apartment was not noisy. Host was prompt with most communication. We had a great stay!
What could be improved: Couldn't figure out the heating so the bedroom was quite warm. Washing machine is in the building but not in the apartment.

"Solid apartment in a great location"
Great location, nice size, basic kitchen, comfy beds
What could be improved: Two of the three windows in the living room were broken, so for the person sleeping on the living room couch it was very loud during the night and in the early morning, should be fine once the windows are fixed

"Good"
Great great location.
Confortable (event we did not tested the sofa bed with adults) and quiet
easy to find and go in.
What could be improved: need more dishes (glasses, plates, ...) that is really not enought for 4. not perfectly clean.
A small paper sheet left on the table with all the info about the flat would be nice (included where to put the garbage)
