Modern Studio Flats in St Johns Wood near Marylebone & Regents Park
First Impressions
Modern Studio Flats in St Johns Wood near Marylebone & Regents Park caught me off guard in the best way possible. I mean, the name pretty much tells you everything — these are proper studio apartments, not your typical hotel rooms. Walking up to the building on Frampton Street, you get that authentic London residential vibe, which honestly feels refreshing when you’re tired of sterile hotel lobbies.
The Studio Setup
Each apartment is surprisingly well thought out for the space they’re working with. The kitchenette isn’t just for show — I actually used it to make proper breakfast and store leftovers from Borough Market (which, by the way, is totally doable via the Tube). The room flows nicely from sleeping area to living space, and there’s enough storage that you won’t be living out of your suitcase for the entire stay. What struck me most was how they managed to make it feel like a temporary home rather than just a place to crash.
Location Smarts
Here’s what the guidebooks won’t tell you — St Johns Wood is one of those neighborhoods where you feel like you’re living in actual London, not tourist London. You’re walking distance from Lord’s Cricket Ground if that’s your thing, and Regent’s Park is right there for morning jogs or lazy afternoon picnics. The four-star rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting apartment-style living in one of the city’s more upscale residential areas without paying Mayfair prices.
Getting Around
St John’s Wood station is close enough that you don’t need to stress about transport, and honestly, the Jubilee line gets you pretty much everywhere you want to go. What I loved was being able to walk to Marylebone — it’s this lovely stretch where you pass actual Londoners going about their day, not just crowds of tourists. The area around Marylebone High Street has some fantastic independent shops and that restaurant scene that feels more neighborhood bistro than tourist trap.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want someone to bring you fresh towels every day and turn down your bed, this probably isn’t your place. But if you appreciate having your own space, being able to grab groceries at Waitrose and actually cook something decent, and staying somewhere that gives you a real taste of London living — well, that’s exactly what you get here. The 8.5 rating reflects what most people discover: sometimes the best hotel experience isn’t really a hotel at all. Plus, there’s parking available, which anyone who’s tried to drive in central London will tell you is basically a miracle.
