First Impressions
Modern Brixton Apartments sits on a quiet residential street just off Brixton’s main drag, and honestly, you’d never guess from the outside how polished these four-star serviced apartments are inside. The building itself isn’t flashy — it’s that typical London brick facade — but step through the entrance and there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about design here. The lobby feels more like a boutique hotel than your average serviced apartment block.
The Space
I stayed in one of their one-bedroom units, and the kitchen setup really impressed me. We’re talking proper appliances here — a full-sized fridge, dishwasher, and an oven that actually works well (trust me, that’s not always a given with these places). The living area flows nicely into the sleeping space, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light. You know what really sold me though? The little touches like proper hangers in the wardrobes and USB charging points built into the bedside tables.
Location & Getting Around
Being in London, you’re about a seven-minute walk to Brixton Underground station, which puts you on the Victoria line straight into central London — honestly one of the most reliable tube lines. But here’s the thing about staying in Brixton: the neighborhood itself has become quite the destination. Brixton Village and Market Row are practically on your doorstep, and I mean, where else can you get authentic Caribbean food at 2 PM and then pop into a trendy wine bar by 7?
Amenities & Service
There’s no on-site restaurant, but given the food scene right outside, that’s actually fine by me. What they do have is 24-hour reception (surprisingly helpful when you’re dealing with jet lag), and weekly housekeeping that’s included in longer stays. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout — I tested it in the lobby, my room, and even the little courtyard area. There’s also secured parking available, though in Brixton you’re honestly better off using public transport most of the time.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want traditional hotel service with turndown mints and a concierge, this isn’t your place. But if you’re after that sweet spot between independence and comfort — where you can make your own coffee in the morning but still have someone to call if the heating plays up — Modern Brixton Apartments gets it right. The neighborhood gives you proper London life without the tourist crowds, and the apartments themselves feel like places you could actually live in, not just crash for a few nights. At this price point in London, that’s actually saying something.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
