Modern and stylish flat
First Impressions
Modern and stylish flat sits in a converted building that honestly surprised me — it’s one of those places where the exterior doesn’t give away how thoughtfully designed everything is inside. The four-star apartment occupies the seventh floor of Kender House, and you know what, the moment you step through the door, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cared about creating a proper living space rather than just another tourist crash pad.
Location & South London Reality
Lewisham gets a bad rap sometimes, but I’ve got to tell you — this area is actually buzzing with life in the best possible way. You’re genuinely in proper London here, not some sanitized zone designed for visitors. The high street is maybe a seven-minute walk, packed with Caribbean bakeries, Vietnamese pho spots, and those brilliant late-night grocery stores that save your life when you realize you need milk at 10 PM. The train connections are solid too — you can be in central London faster than you’d think.
The Space That Works
The flat itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a rental, which I mean in the best way possible. There’s a proper kitchen with everything you’d actually want to use — not just the bare minimum — and the living area has this natural flow that makes you want to settle in rather than just dump your bags. The room setup works well for couples or even friends sharing, with enough space that you’re not tripping over each other’s stuff.
Neighborhood Discoveries
What I really loved about staying here was stumbling onto things I’d never have found otherwise. There’s this fantastic weekend market just down the road where locals actually shop — not the tourist-heavy Borough Market scene, but real South London energy. The parks nearby (Hilly Fields is gorgeous on a clear day) give you proper breathing room, and honestly, sitting up there looking back toward the city center, you get why people choose to live in this part of town rather than just visit it.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
The combination of genuine local atmosphere and thoughtful amenities hits that sweet spot most places miss entirely. You’re not paying central London prices, but you’re also not sacrificing comfort or ending up somewhere that feels disconnected from the real city. The hosts clearly understand what travelers actually need — reliable WiFi, proper coffee setup, and enough space to spread out after a day of exploring. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next London trip before you’ve even checked out.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
