Overview
First Impressions
Modern and Spacious 2 bedroom Flat in Streatham sits in a contemporary residential building that honestly feels more like a proper home than your typical hotel stay. When I first walked into Derry Court, I was struck by how quiet it was — you know, that kind of residential calm that’s actually pretty rare when you’re staying somewhere temporary in London. The building itself has that clean, modern aesthetic without being sterile, and the fact that you get an entire flat rather than just a room makes all the difference.
The Space Itself
This three-star property really delivers on the “spacious” promise in its name. The two bedrooms are genuinely roomy — I mean, you can actually unpack your suitcase and still move around, which is saying something for London standards. The main living area flows nicely into a proper kitchen setup, and I found myself actually cooking a few meals instead of eating out constantly. There’s something refreshing about having that option, especially when you’re staying for more than just a night or two.
Streatham Reality Check
Let me be honest about Streatham — it’s not central London, and that’s actually part of its charm. You’re in a real neighborhood where locals go about their daily lives, grab coffee at independent shops, and where you can find decent groceries without paying tourist prices. The area has been quietly improving over the years, and you’ll find some surprisingly good spots for dinner within walking distance. Getting into central London takes about 25-30 minutes on public transport, which isn’t bad at all.
Practical Considerations
What I appreciated most was how everything just worked properly. The wifi was solid (crucial for anyone working remotely), the heating responded when you needed it, and the shower had decent water pressure. These might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how often places get the fundamentals wrong. There’s also parking available, which is genuinely valuable if you’re planning to explore beyond London or just prefer having a car.
Why Guests Love It
This place works best for people who want space to breathe and don’t need to be in the thick of tourist central London. Families particularly seem to appreciate having separate bedrooms and the ability to spread out properly. The 7.4 rating reflects what you get — solid, comfortable accommodation that doesn’t try to be fancy but delivers on the practical stuff that matters. If you’re the type who values having your own space over being steps from Big Ben, this flat in Streatham makes a lot of sense.

"Very good"
Great location, nice apartment, spacious, easy access to train station. Warm inside and balcony
What could be improved: Lack of microwave but oven was available to warm up food

"Great location, bathrooms clean & Modern with good hot shower pressure. Bedrooms clean & comfortable."
Location to the station
What could be improved: No clothes rack to hang clothes up after washing in the machine also no clothes hangers in bedrooms which would have helped.

"Good"
The house had a lovely ambience and the environment was habitable
What could be improved: Your WiFi and the television in the room was horrible. We had to rely on our personal Internet for the whole period.

"Okay for the money (because London is expensive)"
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a bath. Very close to the train station that will take you to (for instance) Blackfriars in half an hour. Lots of space in the apartment. Beds, of the pocket spring type, were okay, if a bit shallow. The balcony was nice.
What could be improved: The kitchen lacks many essentials, like dishcloths and towels, and more cutlery, and a colander, and non-stick frying pans that are not terribly scratched (unhealthy). The kitchen drawers and cupboards were not clean. Wifi was unusably slow, we had to revert to data roaming. The curtains failed to keep out the light, so we could never sleep beyond 7AM or so. The street is noisy and the neighbourhood a bit depressing, as is the residential building the apartment is in. When the toilet was clogged, and we called the owner, instead of expressing his regret for our discomfort, he asked in an accusatory tone if we had somehow caused the problem ourselves. A message about the failing Wifi was simply ignored.

"Very good"
The apartment was spacious and well lit. The location was amazing with all the near by facilities
What could be improved: I would appreciate if more effective communication was made before our arrival about the parking and how to find the location.

"Overall enjoyed our stay"
Good location to public transport and a super tesco right below. Great size, modern, clean, nice little balcony with table and chairs. Prompt communication from owner, had a problem with hot water but was sorted straight away.
What could be improved: Had an unpleasant smell every time you came in after being out, would only go away with open doors and windows. Wifi was not great, and very hard to connect to smart tv.

"Good for couples for one or two days"
The apartment is big and have enough space for 2 couples with own bathrooms…
What could be improved: It was not cleaned enough… the parking it’s quite far from the apartment. You need to walk true Tesco to go to the apartment -5 minutes walking. Hard to find the building.

"Excellent"
Could not recommend this place enough. The host went out of his way to ensure we had the best stay possible.
When we asked him about there being no microwave in the property he went and bought one for us & delivered it in person.
The place is clean and spacious. The weather was lovely so the kids took full advantage of eating their breakfast on the balcony.
Comes with on site parking which is so amazing to get in London. 24 hour concierge downstairs.
Perfect stay for what we needed.
