Mitre Haring by Artsy
First Impressions
Mitre Haring by Artsy caught me off guard in the best way possible. Walking up to this four-star property on Scrubs Lane, you wouldn’t expect the artistic flair that hits you the moment you step inside. The lobby feels more like a curated gallery than a typical hotel reception — there’s actually rotating artwork throughout the building, which makes sense given the “Artsy” branding.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of London — you’re technically in Hammersmith and Fulham, but you’re wonderfully close to everything without being in the chaos of central zones. East Acton tube station is your lifeline here, just a short walk away on the Central line. I mean, you can be in Oxford Circus in about 20 minutes, which honestly beats staying in some of those cramped hotels right in the thick of it.
The Room Experience
My room had this lovely industrial-meets-artistic vibe that actually works. The exposed brick walls are adorned with local artwork, and the furniture has clean lines without feeling sterile. What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details — decent lighting for reading, plenty of plugs near the bed, and a proper work desk if you need to get things done.
Dining & Social Spaces
The on-site restaurant surprised me with its focus on contemporary British cuisine. It’s not trying to be fancy for fancy’s sake, but the ingredients are clearly quality and the presentation is thoughtful. The communal areas have this relaxed energy where you’ll find a mix of business travelers and tourists, all drawn in by the artistic atmosphere. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t take itself too seriously while still delivering solid comfort.
Why Guests Love It
You know what sets this place apart? It’s got personality without being gimmicky. The art theme runs through everything but never feels forced — from the lobby installations to the carefully chosen pieces in each corridor. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy working here, which always makes a difference in how welcome you feel. Plus, there’s parking available if you’re driving, which can be a real headache to find in London. It’s that sweet spot of being artistic and interesting while delivering all the practical stuff you actually need from a hotel stay.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
