Overview
First Impressions
The Luxury Covent Garden Holborn 1 Bed Apartment sits tucked away on Gate Street in Camden, though honestly, you’re right on the edge where Camden meets the West End buzz. Walking up to this four-star place, I was struck by how it manages to feel residential while being smack in the middle of everything — you know what I mean? It’s one of those converted buildings that keeps its London character while giving you proper modern comfort.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Gate Street — it’s actually one of those hidden gems that locals use as a shortcut between Holborn and Covent Garden. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Royal Opera House and all the Covent Garden madness, but when you come home at night, it’s surprisingly quiet. The Cittie of Yorke pub is practically next door (and trust me, it’s worth a pint), plus you’ve got Lincoln’s Inn Fields just around the corner for morning runs or lazy afternoon reading.
The Space
The apartment itself feels much bigger than you’d expect for central London — and I mean that in the best way possible. The room has proper storage space, which is honestly rare in this part of town, and the kitchen is actually functional rather than just decorative. I was impressed by the attention to detail; the furnishing feels curated rather than just thrown together, and there’s enough natural light to make you forget you’re in the middle of a bustling city.
Daily Life & Practicalities
What I really appreciated was how seamlessly everything worked — the heating responds quickly (crucial for London winters), the Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner, and the shower pressure is decent. The building itself is well-maintained, though you’ll want to note there’s no parking on-site, which is pretty standard for this area anyway. Honestly, you won’t need a car here — Holborn and Chancery Lane tube stations are both walkable, and there’s a Tesco Express about two minutes away for essentials.
Why Guests Love It
This place hits that sweet spot between having your own space and being in the thick of things. You can walk to the British Museum in fifteen minutes, catch a show in Covent Garden, or explore the quirky shops around Neal’s Yard — but when you want to decompress, you’ve got a proper home base. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely comfortable and well-located. For the price point and what you get in return, especially considering you’re essentially staying in Zone 1 London, it’s actually solid value.
Apartments in London suit families with bright bay windows, full kitchens, and sunset loops through Hyde Park paths.

"Excellent property and Wonderful Stay"
Excellent property in central London, a few minutes walk to Holborn tube station. The apartment was all comfortable, there is a bar down which sometimes becomes noisy if you open the windows.
Everything else was aboveboard, little expensive because of prime location but would definitely come again 👍🏻
What could be improved: The Bar in the neighbour 😜

"Super cozy flat"
Russell was lovely and was great with communicating check in instructions. The place was very cozy and in a great location; literally less than 2min away from the tube station and the high street.
What could be improved: The bathroom, while it was beautiful, the toilet paper holder was broken and the shower drainage system wasn't working well so water would leak into the main area of the bathroom after having it on for more than 5min.

"Beautiful Accommodation"
The location was excellent. We loved how close it was to the tube station and there was a Sainsburys and Waitrose close by. The decor was lovely too.
What could be improved: All was great but a minor improvement would be to have a tea towel available. I'd also recommend ear plugs.

"Great clean modern apartment in an excellent location"
The apartment was lovely I’ve found with modern places like this you can sometimes show up and it’s run down but not this place. The location was excellent and the host was always on hand for any questions. Early check in was great with us having a child with us.
What could be improved: As it’s been stated the shower can flood the rest of the bathroom I read about this before hand and prepared myself with plenty of towels. Extra towels in the wardrobe too. As this is privately owned we couldn’t leave our luggage on the last day but there’s plenty of places in London that hold them for you at a low cost

"Fantastic location, nicely designed flat."
The location is fantastic. Quite literally behind Holborn tube station in a small alley. It’s a one bedroom flat. Beautifully designed with a walk in shower and all the facilities we needed.
What could be improved: When we came the lift didn’t work so we needed to drag our luggage up the stairs. The lift was fixed shortly after. It got broken again and then fixed again. The kitchen has no condiments whatsoever which was a great shame. The sofa bed in the living room is very uncomfortable and I notified the owner of it.

"Great location"
Great location. Beautiful, stylish interior equipped everything you may need.
What could be improved: The shower floor is poorly designed, causing water to flood across the floor all the way to the toilet, making it difficult and uncomfortable to use. Mornings are very noisy due to deliveries and unloading for the bars and restaurants outside the window. These start at 6 AM and are as loud as if there were construction right outside. If you want a good night's sleep and rest, earplugs are absolutely necessary. However, even with earplugs, the noise is still noticeable. Also, the kitchen needs either kitchen towels or paper towels.

"Perfect location and would highly recommend."
Wonderful location and flat! It was perfect! The pubs downstairs were a bit loud because buy was light white noise.
What could be improved: Probably the pub noise but again, it wasn’t bad.
