First Impressions
Walking up to Luxury 5 Bedroom Home on Elgin Mews feels like you’ve stumbled onto a movie set — honestly, this cobblestoned street in Notting Hill is almost too picture-perfect to be real. The townhouse sits quietly among its Victorian neighbors, and you’d never guess from the outside that you’re about to step into what’s essentially a apartment that sleeps ten people comfortably. The four-star rating doesn’t quite capture how special this place feels.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in London — you’re literally a two-minute walk from Portobello Road, which means Saturday morning antique hunting is basically mandatory. The Westway flyover runs overhead (you can hear it occasionally), but somehow that just adds to the authentic West London vibe. Ladbroke Grove tube station is close enough that you’ll be in Central London in fifteen minutes, but far enough that you feel like you’re living in an actual neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble.
The Space
What strikes you immediately is how this isn’t your typical vacation rental — someone actually thought about how people live together. The main kitchen area flows into the dining space, and there’s this lovely little courtyard garden where you can have morning coffee without feeling cramped. Each room has its own character (the top-floor bedroom has these great slanted ceilings), and honestly, the bathrooms are nicer than what you’d find in most London hotels at twice the price.
Daily Life Here
I mean, having five bedrooms means you’re not tripping over each other, which is huge when you’re traveling with a group. The washing machine becomes your best friend after a few days, and there’s something satisfying about picking up groceries at the little Tesco Express around the corner. You know what’s brilliant? The heating actually works properly — I’ve stayed in plenty of London places where that’s definitely not guaranteed.
Why Guests Love It
Look, London accommodation can feel like you’re paying premium prices for cramped spaces, but this place flips that equation completely. You get the neighborhood feel without sacrificing comfort, and parking is actually possible on the street (though you’ll want to check the restrictions). The 10-point rating makes sense once you’ve spent a few nights here — it’s that rare rental where everything just works the way it should.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
