First Impressions
Walking up to London City Modern Apartment, Woolwich on Frances Street, you’ll notice it’s tucked away in a quiet residential block that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist hustle. The building itself is pretty standard — nothing fancy, but clean and well-maintained. I mean, for a three-star place, you’re not expecting marble lobbies, and honestly, that’s part of its charm.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what’s actually useful about staying in Greenwich — you’re close enough to central London without paying those crazy Zone 1 prices. The Woolwich area gets overlooked by most visitors, but the transport links are solid. You’ve got the DLR station about a ten-minute walk away, and from there it’s a straight shot to Canary Wharf or back into the city center. The neighborhood has that proper London residential feel, with corner shops and local pubs that tourists never see.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup works really well if you’re staying more than a couple nights. You get a proper kitchen with everything you need — fridge, microwave, stovetop — which honestly saves you a fortune on eating out. The room is clean and modern enough, though don’t expect Instagram-worthy interiors. The bed’s comfortable, there’s decent storage space, and the heating actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in London).
Practical Details
What I appreciated most was having space to spread out a bit. There’s a small dining area where you can actually sit and plan your day over coffee, and the WiFi is reliable enough for video calls back home. The shower has good water pressure — again, one of those things you don’t think about until it’s terrible. Parking can be tricky in this area, but there are residential spots if you’re patient enough to circle around a bit.

Look, this isn’t going to be the highlight of your London trip, but it does exactly what it promises. You get clean, functional accommodation with enough space to feel like you’re not living out of a suitcase. The price point makes sense for what you’re getting, especially if you factor in the money you’ll save by cooking some meals yourself. It’s the kind of place that works particularly well for longer stays or if you’re visiting London on business and need somewhere quiet to decompress after long days in the city.

"Good location for access to the London Marathon. Could do with a clean."
Good access to Woolwich Docklands train station.
Tesco Express opposite the flat was really usefull.
Had everything needed, except a teatale / oven glove, so used a small towel for oven use.
Plenty of space for a couple.
Easy key access.
Plenty of bedding / Pillows. Bed was comfortable.
Good communication with host when contacted.
What could be improved: Sadly, we found the flat with a dirty kitchen and bathroom. I had to clean both before basic use, including the kitchen cupboard doors as they were very sticky with obvious marks, plus some of the plates / Mugs and cutlery.
The bathroom had not been deep cleaned for a long time which was evident immediately as thick dust / grime around the skirting ledge, toilet and sink.
Small ant nest in the bathroom, as always ants crawling around the bathroom floor around the bath, but the window was open on arrival so perhaps they had 'just' gone in and decided to stay.....
The mirror in the bedroom (wardrobe mirror) is severely smashed in an area, so carful if curious kids, not to touch. (toddlers would not reach, as higher up).
I stayed the 3 nights and did not complain as was there for Marathon weekend and did not want the hassle or stress, so to be fair to the hosts, they never had a chance to rectify. It was not so bad I felt I couldn't stay there and a few wipes over with anti back / cleaner in the kitchen, bath / loo / sink surficed enough to get by, just not expected and not pleasant as made me feel dirty at times. I've used booking com several times and this is the first time I've had a concern. Perhaps the hosts would have offered a clean, but to be fair to them, I didn't raise it as was busy with marathon weekend things.

"Fit for purpose, clean, no frills"
Convenient location for the reason I was staying
What could be improved: beds not comfortable, could do with new mattresses
front coming into the property very littered, although cleaners in on the day I left (Mon) so maybe just accumulated over the weekend.
rest of property / courtyard very scruffy with piles of dumped old furniture / building materials. doesn’t impact on property, but doesn’t give great impressions when first arriving

"Not worth the money."
Good location for buses and trains.
Small supermarket over the road.
What could be improved: The outside is very dirty, with litter and cigarette ends everywhere. The apartment smells, lots of air fresheners and plugins trying to mask the smell. Mattress Springs broken, not a good nights sleep. The place is very very dirty- see photos.

"Pleasant"
Dejligt soveværelse med en god dobbeltseng, gode dyner og hovedpuder og godt med at der var gratis toilet artikler samt kaffe og the.
Lå rimelig tæt på helt ny tube station samt Uber Boat Pier til London meget dejligt område langs med Themsen.
What could be improved: Sovesofaen manglede en form for top madras, lagenet gled hele tiden af på det glatte læder.

"Rapport qualité prix est bien"
Très bien situé, à proximité des transports en commun.
Le propriétaire était très sympa et très réactif.
Parking privé gratuit et sécurisé.
Thermostat pour régler la chaleur fonctionnait bien.
Les sanitaire fonctionnait bien.
What could be improved: La hôte n’était toujours pas nettoyé, vu les anciens commentaires.
Il manquait les coussins/draps/couvertures au lit d’appoint.

Hermoso departamento, completo, cómodo, el dueño muy servicial, buen vecindario, medio de transporte muy bueno (a 1 minuto del bus y a 10 del tren)
Supermercado, peluquería, y negocios de comida rápida justo enfrente.
Todo muy bien!
