First Impressions
Littlefold isn’t what you’d expect to find on a street called Farm Way — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star gem sits quietly in Northwood, looking more like a boutique guesthouse than a traditional hotel. The moment you walk up, you get that feeling like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves.
The Setting
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re technically in Greater London, but it feels like you’ve escaped to the countryside. Northwood has this village-y quality that most tourists never see, with actual green spaces and tree-lined streets. You know what’s brilliant? The Metropolitan line stops right in Northwood, so you can be in central London in about 45 minutes, but come back to somewhere that actually feels peaceful.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than what you’d get at a chain hotel, but it had character — proper character, not the fake kind they try to manufacture. The furnishings felt thoughtfully chosen rather than ordered from a catalog, and the bed was honestly one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. There’s free WiFi that actually works (always a gamble, right?), and the shower had proper pressure, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong.
Practical Bits
The staff here seem to genuinely care about what they’re doing — I mean, you can tell when someone’s just going through the motions versus when they actually want to help. Parking is available, which is a godsend in this part of London where most places assume you’ll figure it out yourself. Breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it’s proper — none of that sad continental buffet nonsense.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want to be in the thick of Leicester Square, this isn’t your spot. But if you’re looking for somewhere that feels like a real neighborhood while still being connected to everything London offers, Littlefold gets it right. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there — it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, just doing the fundamentals really well. Plus, you’ll probably spend half what you’d pay for a similar experience closer to the center, and sleep better too.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
