This three-star gem sits quietly in Northwood, looking more like a boutique guesthouse than a traditional hotel. The moment you walk up, you get that feeling like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves.

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re technically in Greater London, but it feels like you’ve escaped to the countryside. Northwood has this village-y quality that most tourists never see, with actual green spaces and tree-lined streets. You know what’s brilliant? The Metropolitan line stops right in Northwood, so you can be in central London in about 45 minutes, but come back to somewhere that actually feels peaceful.

The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there — it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, just doing the fundamentals really well. Plus, you’ll probably spend half what you’d pay for a similar experience closer to the center, and sleep better too.
