You know what struck me about Light and Modern 2BR 1.5BA, newly refurbished!? It’s one of those places that doesn’t need an official star rating to prove its worth. This unique boutique hotel sits quietly on Amity Grove in Raynes Park, and honestly, the name tells you exactly what you’re getting — light floods through every window, and everything feels fresh and contemporary.

The Space

Walking into this two-bedroom setup, I immediately noticed how thoughtfully everything’s been laid out. The main room flows seamlessly into the living area, and there’s actually proper storage space (something you don’t always get in London properties). The kitchen is compact but functional — I mean, you’ve got everything you need for a proper breakfast or late-night snack. What really got me was how the refurbishment didn’t try to be trendy for the sake of it; they just focused on making everything work better.

Location & Neighborhood

Raynes Park isn’t exactly central London, but that’s sort of the point. You’re far enough out to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than touristy, yet the transport links are solid. The local high street has that proper suburban feel — there’s a decent restaurant or two, and you can actually find parking without selling a kidney. Plus, you’re genuinely close to Wimbledon Common if you fancy a proper walk.

What Makes It Special

This place gets a 9 out of 10 rating from guests, and after staying here, I get why. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t — no pretentious amenities or overwrought design. The 1.5 bathrooms actually make a difference when you’re sharing the space, and the fact that everything’s newly refurbished means you won’t find any of those annoying little issues that plague older properties. Onsite parking, very close to local shops & restaurants, and ideally located to public transport. The apartment is exactly the same as in the pictures, pristine, modern and comfortable. They even have coffee, teas, an assortment of spices available. Loved it and would highly recommend staying here!

"Two night stay"
The property was furnished with everything we needed. It was light, clean and airy. There were lots of little extras that made staying much easier like, tea, coffee, sugar and sweeteners plus salt, pepper and a selection of spices. There was also washing up liquid and hand wash at every sink plus shampoo and conditioner and body wash in the main bathroom. There was also a hairdryer. The location was great. Just across from Raynes Park station. There was a co-op across the road and big Waitrose two minutes walk away if you wanted to cook. However there are lots of places to eat nearby. We were visiting family so only ate out once at Babylon for Brunch, which was excellent. The only negatives were a wobbly utility tap (which we just avoided) and a lack of a plug for the kitchen sink. It made washing up a little tricky but as we didn't cook it wasn't a problem I would definitely recommend to anybody needing somebody to stay in the area and wouldn't hesitate to return ourselves.

Location was excellent
What could be improved: Common entry was dark and dingy. Uncertainty regarding on site parking. Oven was filthy however host arranged cleaning very quickly. Only one set of keys provided.
