Overview
First Impressions
Large Studio Apartment 30 mins to Oxford Street (B) might not sound like the most glamorous name, but honestly, it tells you exactly what you’re getting — and sometimes that’s refreshing. This three-star apartment sits on Harrow Road in an area that’s more real London than tourist London, which I actually found quite charming. The building itself is typical West London residential, nothing fancy, but clean and well-maintained.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying in Hammersmith and Fulham — you’re living like a local, not a tourist. The 30-minute claim to Oxford Street is pretty accurate via the Central line, though you’ll want to factor in a short walk to the nearest tube station. What surprised me was how much I enjoyed the neighborhood itself. There’s a proper local pub around the corner, a decent Turkish place for late-night food, and honestly, it felt good to escape the crowds of central London each evening.
The Space
The studio is larger than most London hotel rooms I’ve stayed in — that’s the main draw here. You get a proper kitchen setup, which means you can actually save money by cooking some meals instead of eating out constantly. The layout works well, with the sleeping area feeling separate enough from the living space that it doesn’t feel cramped. I mean, it’s still a studio, but they’ve made good use of the square footage.
Practical Matters
What really sold me on this place was the attention to practical details. The shower has decent pressure (not always a given in London), there’s enough storage space for a week’s worth of clothes, and the WiFi actually works properly. The room stays reasonably quiet despite being on a main road — the windows do their job. You know what else? They provide proper coffee, not just those terrible instant packets you get in most budget places.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want to be in the heart of Covent Garden, this isn’t your spot. But if you want space to spread out, a functional kitchen, and a genuine London neighborhood experience without breaking the bank, it works really well. The 8.5 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does offer, it does well. Plus, that extra space means you can actually unpack your suitcase and settle in properly, which makes a surprising difference when you’re staying more than a few nights.

"Very enjoyable for 3 nights in London."
It was very clean and there was plenty of towels and kitchen utensils etc
What could be improved: There was no lounge area just 2 chairs in the kitchen to watch tv.

"Cozy"
It was a cozy space for my partner and I. Happy with the amenities included for cooking. The clothes drying rack came in handy. We really liked that the bus stops and train stations were pretty close. We loved that mums was right across the street and that the grocery store was 2 mins away. Also, the neighborhood was quite friendly and diverse.
What could be improved: Not a huge fan of the interior design. The mattress also felt like it needed to be changed to a new one - while it was soft, it felt like it was overdue for something new. The bed initially felt like a water bed, to me. There was an unpleasant smell on arrival which went away after a day or 2. Some things were a bit dirty. My instincts told me to check the soap dispenser (on our last day) which had mold. That was a bit unsettling but hey. Also, the internet connection wasn’t that great - it kept dropping as we were trying to use our phones and the TV.

"Terrible neighbourhood, but good apartment with nice facilities."
The apartment was spacious and had a lot of facilities! We were able to take showers, cook our own food, and there was even a TV with Netflix! The apartment was nice and clean, and the hosts were always there to answer questions if we had them.
What could be improved: The neighbourhood is absolutely terrible. At night we often felt extremely unsafe walking there to get to the apartment. Also, the building is very noisy. You'll hear all of the neighbours very well.
There was also some mold around the shower.

"Acceptable, but disappointing"
Overall Decent, but Room for Improvement
Our stay was decent, but the details could be improved. The photos look better than the reality, or at least the state we happened to find things in.
- The host was welcoming and provided clear instructions. While we didn't communicate much, it seems they try to make this a pleasant experience to the best of their abilities and we appreciated that.
- The shower was small but clean and had warm water.
- The bedroom and kitchen/living room were reasonably large.
- This place has heating and that helped us stay comfortable in spite of the rainy/windy weather outside.
- We enjoyed the basic amenities provided: clean sheets, towels, a small fridge and freezer, dishes, cutlery etc. However, the EU to UK plug adapter was broken so we bought our own and left it there for future use. More paper towels and an extra trash can downstairs would have been useful.
- It is relatively close to both Willesden Junction and Kensal Green Underground train stations on foot. Bear in mind that both stations have no lifts/escalators. The bus (18) stop right in front of the building was (maybe still is) temporarily out of service.
What could be improved: - This part of Harrow Rd looked somewhat dangerous and unkempt. London isn't the safest of cities as we all know, and while there are worse areas no doubt, this place still made us uneasy.
- Wooden doors that were not all that robust and basic locks that didn't feel secure.
- There was a moldy smell in the apartment and hallway. We couldn't get windows to open much, possibly due to safety concerns about the closely spaced houses in the area.
- Two narrow flights of stairs inside the building and another narrow one inside the apartment. Narrow spaces (bathroom and the stairs) make it unsuitable for those with mobility issues and make it difficult to carry heavy/large luggage around.
- The apartment wasn't as bright as shown, and some furniture was worn, like the broken glass shelf right above the toilet and the stained mirror in the kitchen/living room.
- The apartment was only somewhat clean. Main areas were clean, but some other spots were not, like a dirty curtain we noticed upon arrival and the closet we hesitated to use due to dust on the shelves.
- Slow/unresponsive WiFi with occasional recovery.
- Neighbors can be heard easily, which makes it tough to have much privacy or restful sleep if your schedules don't match.
