Kensington Skyline Penthouse
First Impressions
When I first stepped into Kensington Skyline Penthouse, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the street-level entrance on Cromwell Road — it’s pretty understated. But once you take that elevator up, everything changes. The views hit you immediately, and you realize why they called this place a penthouse.
Location & Getting Around
You’re right in the heart of London‘s museum district here, which is actually perfect if you’re doing the tourist thing. The Natural History Museum is literally a five-minute walk, and South Kensington tube station is even closer. What I really liked though was how easy it was to grab groceries from the Waitrose just down the road — you know, for those mornings when you don’t want to venture out immediately.
The Space Itself
This four-star property feels more like a serviced apartment than a traditional hotel room, which worked perfectly for my stay. The kitchen setup is genuinely useful — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual counter space where you can prep meals. The living area opens up to those floor-to-ceiling windows, and on clear days, you can see across London’s skyline (hence the name, I suppose).
What Makes It Different
The thing about staying here is that it doesn’t feel like you’re in a hotel at all. There’s no bustling lobby or formal check-in desk — it’s more like you’re borrowing a friend’s really nice place in Kensington. The building has secure entry, and they’ve got parking available, which is honestly a bit of a miracle in this part of London. I mean, most places around here assume you’re taking the tube everywhere.
Why Guests Love It
What really sold me on this place was the combination of space and location. You get that penthouse feeling without the penthouse price tag, and you’re positioned perfectly for exploring London. The 8.8 rating makes sense when you consider that you’re getting apartment-style living in one of London’s most desirable neighborhoods. It’s the kind of place where you can actually unpack and settle in, rather than living out of a suitcase for your entire stay.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
