Overview
First Impressions
Kensington Apartments London sits right on Kensington High Street, which honestly threw me off at first — I was expecting some tucked-away residential building. But you know what? The location actually works in your favor. The four-star property feels more like serviced apartments than a traditional hotel, and once you’re inside, the street noise fades into that typical London hum you barely notice after a day.
The Space & Setup
Each apartment comes with a proper kitchenette — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual cooking facilities with a stovetop and decent-sized fridge. The one I stayed in had this awkward but functional layout where the living area flowed into the sleeping space without much separation. It’s not huge, but there’s enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The furniture looks like it was updated recently, though some pieces definitely feel more IKEA than boutique.
Location & Getting Around
Being in London‘s Kensington means you’re genuinely close to everything that matters. High Street Kensington tube station is literally a two-minute walk, and from there you can get to Oxford Circus in about ten minutes or Paddington in five. What I really loved was being able to walk to Hyde Park — it’s right there when you need to escape the city madness. The area has that proper London residential feel, with plenty of cafes and the occasional pub tucked between the chain stores.
Daily Life & Practicalities
The building has this compact lobby that feels more like an office reception than a grand hotel entrance, but the staff actually know what they’re doing. There’s no restaurant on-site, which makes sense given the kitchen setup in each unit. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings and grabbing dinner from the Thai place downstairs or the Tesco Express around the corner. The building offers basic parking if you’re brave enough to drive in central London, though honestly the tube connections make a car pretty pointless.
Why Guests Love It
This place works best for people who want the independence of an apartment with hotel-style service when you need it. The kitchenette means you’re not stuck paying London restaurant prices for every meal, and the location puts you in the middle of everything without the tourist circus of somewhere like Covent Garden. It’s not fancy — the 7.6 rating reflects that honest middle ground — but it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

"A good apartment with new facilities inside. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay."
Good and excellent location. It has a modern feel and is clean.
What could be improved: Apartment has new furnitures and fittings but some fittings seem flimsy

"Lovely modern appartment very cute and great location. But v small space."
The location is superb just in High St Ken as well as good security of the flat - the management was amazing- very responsive when we asked questions and for extra glasses.
What could be improved: The flat was tiny for a 2 bedroom - we booked for 5 people. So in the end we were only 4 due to the space constraint (one of our family had to stay elsewhere).

"Wonderful stay"
We stayed 5 nights, location is great. Very close to transportation (bus and metro) and to markets and plenty of restaurants.

"Comfortable stay in a great location"
Location was fantastic with metro station and super market just minutes away.
The hosts were very attentive with somebody replying to our message fairly quickly.
Very comfortable bed.
What could be improved: Being in the centre of busy city the traffic was very noisy all the time. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Bad smell from the pipes/drains in the bathroom. Not overpowering but definitely noticeable.

"Nice appartment, comfortable and close to shops, restaurants and public transport."
Nice apartment in an excellent, safe part of London. The appartment is close to shops, restaurants and public transport. Bus stop is opposite the appartment and the underground a short walk away. Host was very accomodating and quick to respond. Would stay here again.
What could be improved: The blinds on the windows could use updating as light cames in through the windows at night.

"Nice stay"
Good location and felt very much like home.
What could be improved: Strange smell in the bathroom. Also at nighttime it was really warm and to have any air we had to open windows but street is so loud. Apartment is a little warn out. Overall it all was not a big problem.

"Great location but the unit itself wasn't in great condition"
The location was perfect! Nice view from the apartment and felt safe.
What could be improved: The apartment was built very poorly - the windows looked like they were all going to break (which would be very dangerous as we were on the top floor), the bathroom smelled really strange and it was quite noisy in the bedroom at night from the road (this was also caused by the windows not fully closing). Also a lot of stairs and no lift.
I complained about the bathroom smell and asked if the plumber could come once I checked out, but they insisted he came earlier. When we got back to the apartment, the plumber had left the door open with all our belongings inside!
