First Impressions
When I first walked up to Ilford, Luxury Flat 3 close to station, I’ll be honest — the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. This three-star place sits on a quiet residential street in Ilford, and you can literally hear the trains pulling into the station from the front door. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t, which I actually appreciated right away.
Location & Getting Around
The location is genuinely brilliant if you need easy access to central London. Ilford station is maybe a three-minute walk, and from there you’re looking at about 20 minutes to Liverpool Street on the Elizabeth line. I mean, you can’t really ask for better transport links without paying London prices. The neighborhood itself is pretty typical suburban East London — there’s a decent Sainsbury’s nearby, and honestly, some surprisingly good curry houses within walking distance.
The Space
This is where things get interesting. The apartment is actually much more spacious than I expected, especially considering the price point. The kitchen is properly equipped — not just a kettle and microwave situation, but actual cooking facilities. You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the setup. Everything feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need, from decent wifi to enough parking space out front (which, trust me, matters around here).
Comfort & Amenities
The main room has this lovely natural light that makes the whole place feel bigger than it is. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that familiar hotel back ache, and there’s actually proper storage space for your stuff. The bathroom is clean and modern — nothing fancy, but hot water pressure that doesn’t disappoint. I particularly liked that they’ve got blackout curtains, because those early morning trains can be a bit much if you’re trying to sleep in.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the Ritz, but it absolutely delivers on what it promises. The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense when you consider the combination of location, space, and value. It’s ideal if you’re planning day trips into London but want somewhere quiet to come back to — and somewhere you can actually spread out a bit. The fact that you can cook your own breakfast and avoid those £15 hotel morning meals is just the cherry on top, really.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
