Idyllic 2Bed 2Bath Apartment
First Impressions
The Idyllic 2Bed 2Bath Apartment sits on one of those tree-lined streets in Notting Hill that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a movie set. Clanricarde Gardens is actually one of the quieter residential roads in the area — you know, the kind where locals walk their dogs and there’s barely any tourist foot traffic. I’ll be honest, when I first approached this four-star property, the Victorian facade had me wondering if I’d booked the right place.
The Space
Walking into this apartment, you immediately get why it’s rated so highly. The living area is genuinely spacious — not that cramped London “spacious” where you can barely fit a suitcase. Both bedrooms are properly sized too, and having two full bathrooms means you’re not doing that awkward dance with your travel companion in the morning. The kitchen is well-equipped enough that you could actually cook a proper meal, which honestly saves you a fortune in this part of London.
Location Perks
Here’s what I really appreciated — you’re a five-minute walk from the Westway flyover, which sounds terrible but actually means quick access to Paddington Station and the airport. More importantly though, you’re right in the sweet spot between Hyde Park and the Portobello Road action. I found myself cutting through the park most mornings just because it felt ridiculous not to when it’s literally on your doorstep.
Neighborhood Insights
The local vibe around Clanricarde Gardens is pretty special, actually. There’s this little corner shop that stays open late, and the pub at the end of the street (The Ladbroke Arms) serves decent gastropub food without the tourist markup. You’re also walking distance from that whole Notting Hill scene — the bookshop, the market, all of it — but far enough away that you can escape the crowds when you need to.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is the combination of authentic London residential living with proper comfort. You get your own front door key, neighbors say hello, and there’s actual parking on the street if you’re brave enough to drive in London. The apartment feels like a temporary home rather than just another hotel room, and honestly, after a few days of sightseeing, that makes all the difference.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
