Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to High Apartment in St James-Piccadilly COV10 on Haymarket, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream hotel from the outside. This three-star place sits right in the thick of London’s theater district, and you know what? That’s actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. The entrance is understated, tucked into a classic Victorian building that’s seen plenty of history.
The Space
What you’re getting here is essentially an apartment setup, which means you’ve got way more space than your typical London hotel room would give you. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s functional — I mean, you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to skip the £15 sandwiches for a night. The living area feels lived-in rather than sterile, and honestly, after a day of walking around Westminster, having a couch to properly sprawl on makes all the difference.
Location Benefits
Here’s the thing about staying on Haymarket — you’re literally surrounded by everything. Piccadilly Circus is a two-minute walk (and yes, it’s as chaotic as you’d expect), but you can also slip into St. James’s Park when you need to escape the crowds. The theater crowd means the area stays lively until late, but the apartment’s windows do a decent job keeping the street noise manageable. You’ll find yourself walking to most places rather than dealing with the Tube, which is actually quite nice.
Practical Considerations
The building doesn’t have a traditional hotel lobby or 24-hour reception, so you’ll need to coordinate your arrival time — but that’s pretty standard for this type of accommodation in London. The apartment comes with the basics you’d expect, though don’t expect daily housekeeping like you’d get at a full-service hotel. There’s no on-site restaurant, but with Borough Market accessible via a short bus ride and countless pubs within walking distance, you’re hardly lacking options.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about this place is the independence it gives you. You’re staying in one of London’s most central neighborhoods without paying Mayfair prices, and you get the space to actually unpack and settle in. The 7.9 rating makes sense — it’s not trying to be fancy, but it delivers on what matters: location, space, and value. If you’re the type who’d rather explore London like a local than spend time in hotel amenities, this apartment setup hits the mark.
Apartments in London suit families with bright bay windows, full kitchens, and sunset loops through Hyde Park paths.

"Very good"
Location was amazing. Apartments was comfortable enough for our length stay
What could be improved: As everyone mentioned it is in a very vibrant and busy area, the noise goes all hours of the night. The second pull out couch was broken which was difficult as we were traveling with two almost teens

"Great. Big apartment, nice shower, fantastic location’"
Location was fabulous…couldn’t get more central. It does mean it’s noisy at night so having the windows open isn’t an option. But windows shit we’re great at keeping the noise out and there were a couple of fans.
What could be improved: One of the sofa beds was broken but sure host will have the fixed already. It’s a faff checking in.

"It's our first time staying in an Apartment in London as every time we go to London we always stay in a Hotel. Diffe"
It is a very convenient place to stay. Surrounded by different restaurants, theatres, shops and many more. The host was very accommodating. Dough, there's a little bit of delay upon check-in as we can't able to access the property. But, he sent someone to open the door for us.
What could be improved: The noise from outside but we don't really bother as we all tried after spending the whole day outside. We all sleep like a log

"Overall still a nice stay."
We enjoyed our stay. We were very surprised w the amazing view of Piccadilly from our appartament. The setup was great. We had plenty of room to move around. It very close to everything so location was great.
What could be improved: Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable. We could feel the springs in the mattress. The pull out bed for the kids did not pull out as it was broken but the couch itself was comfortable. The window was opened at night due to it being to warm for us but, we realized after that it was also broken but, we were able to put it back in it's place.

"Best seat in town"
Most amazing location, especially for proximity to the shows. Also, window onto Piccadilly Circus provided 24/7 entertainment.
What could be improved: Street noise only stopped for about 2 hours each night but the view and location were worth it.

"Great location, but cleanliness could be improved."
The location is absolutely perfect, right in Piccadilly Circus, super central and close to everything. The flat had all the essentials, and the instructions for check-in and check-out were very clear. Communication with the host was excellent; they were responsive and even checked in to make sure everything went smoothly.
One small tip for non-UK travellers: the apartment only has UK-style sockets, so make sure to bring an adapter if you're coming from Europe. That said, it's not a big issue, there are plenty of little shops nearby where you can easily buy one.
Some reviews mentioned the noise, and it’s true that Piccadilly Circus can be quite loud in the evening; the windows aren’t very soundproof. But honestly, that’s something to expect when staying right in the heart of the city. In our case, having a pair of earplugs did the trick and made it totally manageable.
What could be improved: On the downside, the cleanliness was not great. The sofa and armchair were stained with yellow marks, which was quite unpleasant. We were three people and expected the sofa bed to be ready with sheets, but we had to find them ourselves in the wardrobe and make the bed. Also, a couple of extra towels for hands would have been appreciated.
