Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to H10 London Waterloo on Waterloo Road, you’ll notice it doesn’t scream “look at me” like some hotels do — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building has this understated modern feel that fits right into the Southwark streetscape, though once you step inside, the sleek lobby makes it clear this isn’t your average four-star spot. The Spanish hotel group really knows what they’re doing here.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
You know what I love about this location? You’re literally a five-minute walk from Waterloo Station, which means the entire city opens up to you without the tourist trap pricing of central London. The South Bank is right there — I mean, you can practically see the London Eye from some windows. Borough Market is close enough for a proper Saturday morning wander, and crossing over to Westminster or the West End takes no time at all on the Tube.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was what I’d call “smart small” — not huge, but designed so well that you don’t feel cramped. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many London hotels get this wrong), and the bathroom has this rainfall shower that works properly. What struck me was the attention to detail — decent lighting for getting ready, enough plugs near the bed, and blackout curtains that really block out the morning light when you need that extra hour of sleep.
Dining and Daily Rhythms
The ground floor restaurant serves up a solid breakfast spread that goes well beyond the typical continental offering — proper cooked options and decent coffee that’ll set you right for a day of exploring. The evening menu leans Mediterranean, which makes sense given the H10 roots. I actually found myself eating there more than planned because the vibe is relaxed and the food doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about H10 London Waterloo — it gets the balance right between being polished and being real. The staff actually seem to know the neighborhood and can point you toward that little coffee shop around the corner or tell you which entrance to use for the National Theatre. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in London, but it delivers exactly what you need: a comfortable base that doesn’t eat up your entire travel budget, positioned where you can actually experience the city like someone who lives here. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying south of the Thames — you feel a bit more connected to how London actually works rather than just its postcard version.

"Beautiful superior sky view room shame about refurb works in rooom next door but lovely clean hotel and friendly staff"
Lovely clean room, beautiful rooftop bar such a shame we went in the winter so could not fully appreciate it. Lovely breakfast and friendly courteous staff. Glass of cava on check in is a nice touch!
What could be improved: Although we were warned about refurbishment works at the hotel this was only a couple of days before our stay and even then did not expect it to actually be the room next door! Banging and drilling from around 9am to 5pm so thank for god we were out for most of the day! Also room was not automatically cleaned in the a.m - we were back in our room around 4pm getting ready to go out for evening and house keeping knocked then to ask if we wanted our room cleaned. Sorry but this was not a convenient time so we said no. Also mirror placement in room is a little odd. Full length mirror at side of one of the beds - not ideal for us ladies doing our makeup - no counter space in front of it at the mirror in bathroom. Instead the tv is directly over desk/vanity table so there is no mirror there where you’d probably expect one but this seems a common theme in a lot of hotels these days!

"Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a lovely location with a great view."
Loved loved the location and the view of this property. I didn't get the room with the view of the London eye but my room was still great. The bed was super comfortable and the room had more space than the usual London hotels. Also loved the view from the skybar, breathtaking.
What could be improved: The hotel didn't let me heat up my food because it was not bought from the hotel. That was disappointing.
