Guyrock Apartments sits on New Church Road in Camberwell, and honestly, it’s one of those places that surprises you. The building itself has that classic London brick facade — nothing flashy, but solid and welcoming. I mean, you’re not going to mistake it for a boutique hotel, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about walking up to a place that knows exactly what it is.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this spot in London — you’re actually in a proper residential area where real Londoners live. Camberwell isn’t touristy at all, which means you’ll find genuine local pubs, proper curry houses, and that corner shop that somehow has everything you need. The South Circular is right there, so getting around by car is actually doable (rare for London), and Oval station is a reasonable walk when you want the Tube.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment feels like staying in someone’s well-kept flat rather than a hotel room — and that’s the whole point. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation), so you can actually cook if you want to save some money or just fancy a proper breakfast. The furnishing is modern without trying too hard, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase.
Practical Details That Matter
The three-star rating is spot-on — this isn’t trying to be fancy, but everything works as it should. Hot water comes quickly, the WiFi doesn’t drop out every five minutes, and the beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). Parking is available, which if you’ve ever tried to park in central London, you know is worth its weight in gold. The staff are helpful without hovering, and they’ll actually give you decent local recommendations if you ask.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want to be in the thick of tourist central, this probably isn’t your place. But if you’re after a proper London experience without paying West End prices, Guyrock Apartments delivers exactly what it promises. You get the independence of your own space, you’re living among actual Londoners, and you can walk to Burgess Park when you need some green space. It’s authentic London living — the kind where you might end up chatting with your neighbor about the weather and actually mean it.

"I enjoyed my stay at GuyRocks"
Location was ideal for me. Richard, the owner, was extremely kind and helpful. There was plenty of room and it was spotlessly clean.
When the heating and hot water went off, Richard came immediately to help.
What could be improved: Couldn’t find it! No signage outside the property bar a number high up the wall. No-one there to help initially - had to phone them first. No fridge.

What could be improved: The only thing is no fridge in the kitchen in the apartment but I think there is an available one downstairs. Nothing else other than that

"Quiet lovely stay"
Nice location, great bus service especiallly from the Hospital. Showers were good and it was nice and quiet. We have already considered booking again after we return soon.
What could be improved: We had room 6 which has the toliet and shower room two steps down the corridor.
But we realise that the other bedrooms were ensuite. So will be particular in what we ask for next time.

The people who welcomed us were nice if a little timid. You could tell it was a new business or at least it seemed that way. The facilities were nice, the bathroom was nice if a little small, good water pressure in the shower. The bed was generally comfortable. The location is fantastic and you're not far from anywhere.
What could be improved: The bin in the bathroom wasn't emptied on arrival. The shower was good with adjustable temperature and good pressure but it's very cramped.
The door to the bathroom when opened you have to be very careful as there is a wardrobe mirror directly behind it.
All in all though as Guyrock apartments is new I think this is a good start to this business. For the price we paid, it was good value for money. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
