Overview
First Impressions
Grove Heights Notting Hill sits on a quiet residential street that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Hyde Park. The building itself is classic Victorian townhouse style — white stucco facade, black railings, the whole Notting Hill aesthetic you’ve probably seen in movies. What struck me first was how the entrance feels more like stepping into someone’s elegant home rather than a typical hotel lobby.
The Neighborhood Feel
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re on St Petersburgh Place, which is honestly one of those London streets that locals actually live on. I mean, there are proper residential buildings around you, corner shops, that authentic neighborhood vibe. You can walk to Paddington Station in about ten minutes (trust me, I’ve timed it with luggage), but you’re also close enough to wander into Hyde Park whenever you want. The Queensway tube stop is right there too, which makes getting around pretty effortless.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in felt thoughtfully designed without being over the top. You know what I appreciated most? The windows actually open properly — sounds small, but after staying in places with those tiny hotel windows that barely crack, it was refreshing. The space had character with high ceilings and period details, but they’ve clearly updated everything that matters. The bathroom was modern and well-lit, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re getting ready to explore the city.
Practical Comforts
This four-star property gets the basics right in ways that matter. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (I tested it), and there’s a small restaurant area where they serve breakfast — nothing fancy, but proper coffee and fresh options. What I found particularly useful was how quiet it stays at night despite being in central London. The staff seem to genuinely know the area well too, which makes a difference when you’re asking for directions or restaurant recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Grove Heights Notting Hill isn’t trying to be the flashiest place in London, and that’s exactly why it works. You get that authentic Notting Hill address without paying boutique hotel prices, plus you’re staying somewhere that feels connected to the actual neighborhood rather than isolated from it. It’s the kind of place where you can easily pop out for groceries at the local shops, grab coffee around the corner, or just sit in Hyde Park with a book — all while having a comfortable, well-located base to return to.

"Perfect location - would definitely stay here again."
Fantastic location! Studio was cozy but fine for one person. Kitchen was stocked with all necessary appliances and equipment.
What could be improved: There was a courtyard off the studio but nowhere to sit out there. As the inside space is very small, having somewhere to sit outside would have made the studio feel more spacious.

"Good stay"
Modern and in a good location. We parked at the Hilton hotel just down the road (you have to pay but it was convenient and secure). The flat everything we needed, although we didn’t actually cook but there was cutlery, utensils and pots and pans. There was a fan in the room too but we didn’t need it as it was October. It was clean and check-in was easy (you’re just sent a code so you let yourself in which I find easier and quicker, personally). I’d stay again.
What could be improved: The train/underground goes directly under the property (or close enough) so the room rattled a little and it was a bit loud, it didn’t disrupt our sleep but if you’re a light sleeper then it might. You could also hear people coming and going in the hallway, especially if they had luggage, but thankfully the other guests were quiet during night time. Our room was a little on the small side but we didn’t spend much time there so it didn’t matter much to us and I’d seen the pictures beforehand so knew what to expect.

"Clean tidy but very basic"
Clean and smart presentation.
Comfy pillows.
What could be improved: The room we had was right next to the main door and so was noisy constantly. The doors are not sealed around the frame so it didn't feel very private either, you could hear people quietly chatting in the corridor.
No facilities like a desk, kettle, ironing board, iron etc. Which maybe would have been added if I had known to ask beforehand.
Felt very basic.

"Very good"
Close to the underground and local pubs.
Modern outfit. It was very clean. Living space was spacious and comfortable. Lovely big windows throughout to allow daylight to stream in.
What could be improved: Bathroom/s way too small. If we had the water pressure up too high in the shower, the water struggled to drain. When we opened the windows and doors there was a smell of sewage. Beds were also too small. The kitchenette could do with a tea towel. We stayed in the basement level so there was a lot of overhead noise. Overpriced accommodation.

Perfect location for exploring London by walking (meaning 6-8 hours walking per day) You cross the beautiful Hyde park to get to most main attractions.
It was clean, comfy and it felt safe.
What could be improved: You can't lock the "terrace" door (but it's not so bad becouse no one else has access to it)
In the room description was a note (and a picture) that you get 3 different cosmetic shower products but there was just one shower gel.
Overall everything was great.

"Superb"
Perfect location, all facilities up to expectations
What could be improved: Please review the checkin process! The first description one gets is super confusing, and we didnt get the details on time how to get in the apartment. It caused quite some inconvenience late at night.

"Fabulous location, modern amenities, comfortable, kitchen needs utensils!"
Loved the modern amenities and kitchen and bathroom especially. The location was fabulous, easy walk to the tube, shops, restaurants and Hyde Park. Nice and quiet at night, felt very safe in this location and was happy to walk around at night alone. Easy to get in and out with the code which worked every time.
What could be improved: The kitchen although new, didn't provide any cooking utensils. No sharp knife, no peeler, no wooden spoon or spatula or tongs, no chopping board. The nice matching pots and pans had no accompanying kitchen provisions to make cooking at home reasonable. We had to buy our own knife and peeler. The rooms were really tiny (beds squished up next to walls), but comfortable.
