Overview
First Impressions
Drury Lane Residences sits right in the heart of theatrical London, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. I mean, you’re literally on the same street where some of the West End’s biggest shows happen — it’s one of those addresses that just feels significant. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciated after walking past some of the more flashy hotels in the area.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s great about staying here? You can walk to Covent Garden in about three minutes, and the British Museum is maybe a ten-minute stroll. The four-star property puts you right in Camden, which means you’re surrounded by that perfect mix of tourist attractions and genuine London life. There’s a Tesco Express practically next door (trust me, you’ll use it), and the Holborn tube station is close enough that you won’t be dragging your luggage very far.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like a well-designed apartment than a typical hotel space — there’s actually quite a bit of breathing room, which is rare in central London. The kitchenette setup is surprisingly functional if you want to grab groceries and make breakfast instead of paying hotel prices. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that “slept in a strange place” feeling, and the bathroom had decent water pressure (always a concern in older London buildings).
Dining & Amenities
There isn’t a full restaurant on-site, but honestly, with Borough Market and countless pubs within walking distance, I didn’t miss it. The staff at reception always seemed to know exactly where to send guests for whatever they were craving — whether that was proper fish and chips or something more upscale. The building stays quiet despite being on such a busy street, which I think has something to do with the windows they’ve installed.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that makes your London trip smoother. You’re paying for that prime location without the premium prices of the big luxury chains, and the apartment-style setup means you can actually unpack and settle in rather than living out of a suitcase. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me — it’s the kind of place where everything works as it should, the neighborhood delivers on its promises, and you end up recommending it to friends without any major caveats.

"Fantastic location close to transport and theatres/shopping for a great London experience"
Location was superb
What could be improved: Was quite noisy from street late at night

"Great location, would recommend"
The flat interior is in good condition, appears to have been refurbished not too long ago or is very well maintained. Two shower rooms and toilets are very convenient for a family of four. Good WiFi, plenty of towels and hot water, lots of shower gel and shampoo as well. Location is excellent being only 5 minutes walk from Covent Garden tube station and the many restaurants nearby. There are supermarkets within a few minutes in at least two directions. Communication was clear and entry to the flat was easy. We barely used the kitchen but it seemed well equipped, there's a coffee machine with enough pods for our stay
What could be improved: We were there at the weekend so the sound of people talking outside the bar opposite could be heard from the front bedroom, may be disturbing for some, the back room has no such problem.

"Great location with plenty of space for a family."
Perfect location close to cafes, restaurants and shopping needs. Walking distance to many tourist attractions. 2 bathrooms were ideal with a family of 5.
What could be improved: No lift. The flight of stairs from ground level to level 3 was difficult with 5 big luggages.

"Excellent location with lots of amenities"
A reasonably priced apartment in Covent Garden. Easy to find (Google maps) with an access code to get in to the shared staircase and another code into the apt. We were in #2 of 3 with 36 steps to get to the 2nd floor. Lots of amenities with an air conditioned bedroom. Perfect for a couple or small family. Bed is a double size and the c
ouch is a third bed - not a pull out bed (and extra linens are in the couch!) Location was perfect! Plenty of restaurants and shopping, plus within walking distance (1 mile) of many London tourist attractions and public transportation (taxi, Uber, Lime bikes ...). Communication from Booking and with the staff was excellent.
What could be improved: We had a few minor issues but the staff responded quickly (we didn't know the extra linens were in the couch). The shower drain doesn't drain well, so they did address it although it's still not good. The air conditioning is only in the bedroom - we left windows open in the living area for our 3rd person. But these are all minor - still a wonderful apartment!

"Very good"
Location and spaciousness
What could be improved: Washing machine caused stains. Filters probably need urgent servicing. Tried to advise property about this but unsuccessful.

"Great rooms in the theatre district."
Great location. We’ll set out and nicely furnished rooms. Easy key code access send the day of arrival.
What could be improved: Bedside lights did not work (very minor concern).

"Good stay"
Central location.
Heating.
Layout of the flat.
What could be improved: The rear balcony, a greasy step next to the main extractor fan.
Cooking smells from the restaurant below.
Some of the fixtures and fittings were tired, requiring regular checks of e.g. light bulbs.
