Overview
First Impressions
The Deluxe Two Bed Apartment by London ExCeL & O2 sits in one of those modern developments that’s transformed the Docklands beyond recognition. When I first walked into the building, I’ll be honest — it felt more like stepping into a sleek residential complex than a traditional hotel. That’s actually the point, and once you settle in, you realize why this apartment-style setup works so well for travelers who want space to breathe.
Location & Neighborhood
You’re in Royal Wharf, which means you’re technically in London but it feels like a different world from central zones. The thing is, that’s not necessarily bad — this area has exploded with new restaurants and cafes over the past few years. The Thames Path runs right outside, perfect for morning jogs or evening walks when you need to clear your head. Plus, you’re genuinely close to both ExCeL and the O2, so if you’re here for events, the location makes complete sense.
The Space Itself
What struck me most was how much room you actually get. I mean, when was the last time you had a proper living area in London accommodation without paying through the roof? The kitchen is fully equipped — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation, but actual cooking facilities. The bedrooms are generous too, and honestly, after cramped hotel rooms, having separate sleeping and living spaces feels like such a win.
Getting Around
Transport-wise, you’ll want to get familiar with the DLR — Pontoon Dock station is your friend, and it connects you to Canary Wharf in about ten minutes. Central London takes around 30-40 minutes, which isn’t terrible considering what you’re getting space-wise. There’s parking available too, which is practically gold dust in London. If you’re driving in, just know that the riverside location means occasional wind, but the views make up for it.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it solves the London accommodation puzzle differently. Instead of cramming into expensive central hotels, you get proper living space in a genuinely up-and-coming area. The building feels secure and well-maintained, and there’s something refreshing about having your own front door key rather than a hotel card. It’s perfect for longer stays, families, or anyone who values space over being in the thick of tourist central London.
London’s apartments welcome long stays with terrace views, museum access, and bike routes to hidden mews streets.

I liked the check in process. They waited for us and handed over the keys. Also the house was very clean with all the necessary equipment that made our stay very pleasant. The receptionist were also super responsive.

"Would definitely book with them again"
Very accessible as the DLR and Tube were at walking distance, and you could reach the O2 via cable car
Had a few amenities needed (e.g. clothing rack, washing machine) that made things convenient
What could be improved: Wish there were more steadier door stoppers, the ones we used couldn’t hold the door properly

"Really easy to book and find. staff were really lovely, great location for Excel"
reception desk staff were very polite, efficient and helpful and showed me up to the apartment and carried my bag.
Apartment was equipped with everything you needed.
What could be improved: There were a few lightbulbs out which they offered to fix during my stay but that was fine, I said they could do when I departed.
The en suite bathroom smelled so I used the main bathroom, which was fine as there were two. The main bathroom door lock was faulty but thats fine as I didnt shut the door.

"Very good"
Nice clean property with a really nice kitchen and a cute en-suite master bedroom
What could be improved: The bathroom lock was broken and it kept locking us inside. We had to use something to keep the door open. The reception/host is not always accessible.

What could be improved: Kettle had been cleaned out with descaled product but could taste it, couldn’t use the kettle

"Exceptional"
The receptionist was exceptional and very accommodating taking his time to show us how the parking and access to the building / room works. It was a lovely stay for a long weekend with plenty of room for the 6 of us that went. I'd highly recommend this stay to anyone and we were lucky enough to get the room with a good offer. Other than the point I made in what I didn't like about the hotel, it was flawless! Would definitely choose to go with them again.
What could be improved: Only issue I had was that the reception has a 20 minute parking zone and when I got there there the shutter to where you collect the keys was shut and I couldn't reach anyone on the phone. After 10 minutes the shutter was open, so it's possible that they had a quick break. It's only something minor and I imagine was a one off!

"Loved it, love the location, loved the balcony, loved the kitchen and bathrooms, loved every bit"
The man at the desk was expressing polite, helpful and professional
What could be improved: Some of the walls had marks on them so did some of the ceilings in certain room so it had a slight touch of a tacky feel to it and the beds could have been slightly comfier but I’m just nit picking and other than that everything was perfect

"Disappointing"
Was a short walk away from Excel
What could be improved: It was filthy. Definitely was not cleaned, dust balls under the furniture, floor barely swept, chunks of limescale on the taps i could go on and on.
There was a terrible smell too
